MINtTTES OF THE MEETING OF THE COUNCIL THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED~ OHIO MAY 4, 1960 Present were Paul J. Gareau~ Mayor; Bruce MacDonalds President of Councils Henry Casters Ralph Christman Dewey Limpert, A.L, Mangani~ Lillian Nicholas Francis J. OrNeill, George H. Porter, Also present were Lloyd E. Barnes, Service Director; James T. Wilson Safety Director; C.J. Oviatt, Solicitor; Alex Kanareff~ Engineer; William Gerlach Auditor; and Louise Halls Clerk. The minutes of the regular meeting of the Council April 19, 1960 were approved as corrected, The Mayor issued the following proclamations: June 11~ 1960 ~ All Scouts Day May 2ltth to July ltth ~ ©ehicle Safety#Checsk The Mayor stated that he had received a communication from Bakery Hostetler and Patterson in reference to the decision of the Board of Tax Appeals and that as it is qui.ite lengthy it would be available for Council to read at their convenience. The Service Director reported that the work on the Sewer Plant is progressing as scheduled. The Service Director stated that a member of the School Board had contacted him in regards to drainage condition on Butternut Ridge Road at the High School and grade school stating that the School Board would pay half of the cost of this improvement. This matter was turned over to the Streets, Sidewalks Sewers & Ditches Committee for further consideration. The Service Director requested authority to advertise for bids for material needed for the resurfacing of various roads within the City. The Service Director stated that he will attend a negotiating meeting with a Committtee from the Bus Drivers on May 17, 1960 at 7 P.M. The Service Director reported that he had been receiving complaints from residents of Sweetbriar regarding paving of the street. The Engineer stated that he had been unable to contact anyone and suggested the contractor be given 30 days to complete this fob. The Solicitor was instructed to write to the contractor advising him of this time limit, The Safety Director reported on the activities of the Dog Rarden~ Building Departments Fire and Police Departments for the month of April and the Municipal Court for March. The Engineer requested that Council consider passing legislation making it necessary that a bond be posted at the time of approval of subdivisions for final completion of subdivisions for protection of the City. The Engineer presented each member of Council with a complete report on 8«6-8 plain concrete pavement for their study. The Engineer presented plans for Candelite subdivison. The plans were turned over to the Streets Sidewalks Sewers, & Ditches Committes and the Engineer is to meet with the Committee in regards to this subdivision. The Clerk read the following communications: 1. A letter from Arthur R. Barrette 1959 Midway Chairman North Olmsted Homecomings regarding a better method of providing electricty to the midway and booths for the 1960 Homecoming: 2. A letter from S. H. Benuska pertaining to rezoning of the Brookpark area. 3. A letter from North Olmsted Jaycees, Inc. per~caining to access point for Brookpark Rd, Mr. O~Neill moved, seconded by MrN~mpert, that the Solicitor be directed to write a letter of congratulations to 0ldrich J, Korab on his appointment as Right Reverend Monsignor. nYeas" Caster, Christman Limpert~ Mangani~ Nicholas O~Neill~ Porter.
