<br />Mrs. Nicholas reported, for the Publicity Committees that they had met on
<br />April 21st. with representatives of the press, Floyd Brownie & Associates and
<br />Hayden Miller and that montBTy fetters will be sent to the papers.
<br />Mr. MacDonald stated that the meeting was now open for the Public Hearing oa
<br />the ordinance to levy special assessments to pay additional costs preliminary
<br />to the construction of a municipal sewerage system.
<br />As no information was requested pertaining to this matter the regular business
<br />of Council was continued.
<br />Mr. I+Btngani~ Plats Committee, reported on the Committeets study of the preliminary
<br />plat of a proposed subdivision submitted by Mr. William Pate of West Park
<br />Estates for tentative approval. The Committee recommends that the preliminary
<br />plat be turned over to the planning Commission with the suggestion that a
<br />study be made by that body of sublots !tb through 56 for possible relocation.
<br />The Planning Commission is requested to give this matter due consideration
<br />and report their recommendations back to Council.
<br />Mr. OtNeill~ Transportation Committee, reported that they will +aeet with the
<br />Fairview Transportation Committee May 5th at 8 P.M. in reference to the need
<br />for an increase in fares and extension of the bus franchise.
<br />Mr. Christman, Streets,Sidewal~ Sewers & Ditches Corarnittee, reported that
<br />the Committee had met with Mr. ueorge Biddulph to discuss with him the situation
<br />of the clams of the Springvale Country Cluub. Mr. Biddulph agreed to remove 8~
<br />from the top of the easter]y dam and whatever necessary from the top of the
<br />westerly dam to bring it below the new level of the easterly dam. This would put
<br />the water level to a point at which it was when #~s~°dam was built in 1928.
<br />Because the dam has been there at this level for some 30 odd years, the
<br />Committee recommends that no further action be taken by the City at this time.
<br />Mr. A~.len Melzer, representing Mrs. Froelich, !t$90 Canterbury Rd., presented
<br />more information pertaining to the above matter and requested that action
<br />be taken immediately.
<br />Mr. Lampert moved, seconded by Mr. Caster, that Council go along with the
<br />Committeeis recommendation regarding the dams on the Springvale Counirry Club
<br />and that a report be made in 30 days whether or not Mr. Biddulph has completed

<br />Mrs. Nicholas, Municipal Properties Committee, reported that they have received
<br />3 Insurance Plans and will report their recommendations at the next Council
<br />meeting.
<br />The Solicitor requested Council to consider passage of legislation making
<br />it necessary to obtain a permit for the erection of a fence,
<br />Mr. Christman moved, seconded by Mrs. Nicholas, that the Solicitor be
<br />directed to draw up legislation setting a X2.00 fee for a permit to erect a

<br />The Solicitor suggested to Council that the Auditor be given authority to
<br />deposit inactive funds of X125,000 in a Savings Account so that interest can
<br />be drawn on this amount.
<br />Mr. Christman moved, seconded by Mr. OtNeill that the Solic~.tor be directed to
<br />draw up legislation giving the Auditor authority to deposit inactive funds of

<br />Ordinance No. 301 was introduced by Mr. Mangani. An ordinance to levy special
<br />assessments to pa;~ additional costs preliminary to the construction of a
<br />Municipal Sewerage System for the City of North Olmsted, and declaring an
<br />emergency. It was moved by Mr. Mangani~ seconded by Mr. O~Neil1~ that the
<br />statutory rule be suspended and the ordinance be read immediately the second
<br />and third times and put on its passage. The affirmative vote on said motion
<br />was as follows Caster, Christman, Lampert, Mangani, Nicholas, O~Neill~ Porter.
