<br />MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE COUNCIL <br />THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED, OHIO <br />a~.IL 5, 1960 .. 8:05 P.M. <br />Present were Paul J. Gareau~ Mayor; Bruce MacDonald, President of Council; <br />Henry Caster, 8alph Christman Dewey Limpert, A. L. Mangani, Lillian Nicholas, <br />Francis J. O~Neill, George H. Porter. <br />Also present were :`.~,Y,oyd E. Barnes, Service Director; James T. Wi.lson~ Safety <br />Director; C. J. Oviatt, Smlieitor; Alex Kanareff, Engineer; William Gerlach, <br />Auditor; and Louise Hall, Clark. <br />The minutes of the regular meeting of the Council March 15, 1960 were <br />approved as written. <br />The Mayor stated that Mr. Morgan had been s~rorn in as a member of the Zoning <br />Board of Appeals before that Board this evening. <br />The Mayor issued the following proclamationss <br />The week of April 3rd through the 9th , Realtor Week <br />The month of April, 1960 - Industrial Safety Promotion Month <br />May 1st. « Loyalty Day <br />The Mayor read a communication from the Academy of Medicine of Cleveland <br />requesting consideration of a resolution regarding regulation of speed <br />of Emergency Ambulance Services enacted by the Academy of Medicine. The <br />Mayor requested the Safety Coma~i#~~ confer with him on this recommendation. <br />The Mayor submitted the name of Mr. George Reynolds to serve on The Planning <br />Commission for approval of Council. <br />The Service Director reported that the Board of Control had awarded the <br />follo~ri.ng contracts: Pure Oil Co. •- oil; Sun Oil Co. - gasoline; Standard <br />Oil Co. « diesel fuel oil; Asphalt Sales - T-35; Perry Slag & Cinder - Slag. <br />The Service Director stated that work at the Sewer Plant is moving slowly <br />due to the muddy condition and that theta has been a delay of approximately <br />3 weeks dne to corrections necessary on the plans for prefabrication and <br />placement of steel. <br />The Service Director also stated that 20 of the 54 parcels in the first <br />contrast for the right of way in the Sewer Program should be signed by the <br />end of the week. <br />The Safety Director reported on the activities of the I3og Warden, Fire and <br />Police Departments and Building Department for the month of March and the <br />Municipal Court for the month of February. <br />The Safety Director also reported that 150 Warning tickets had been issued <br />for parking on Lorain Road and after May lst. parking tickets will be issued <br />to violators. <br />The Safety Director stated that Patrolmen Brow and Lavender are attending <br />Western Reserve Police Training School and that Patrolman Bierman had <br />attended the Ohio Identification Offiseris Seminar in Dayton, Ohio. <br />The Safety Director also stated that the Police Department requests that <br />Council consider a possible curfew of 10 P.M. i.ri Bowling Alleys for children <br />unless accompanied by an adult. <br />The Safety Director reported that the Great Northern Shopping Center Association <br />had requested parking edf®raement in the shopping center and that he wi71 discuss <br />this matter with the Safety Committee. <br />
