When we receive Part A, tb.is office will then authorize you to ad- <br />vertise for bids upon approving the project plans and specifications. <br />Do not advertise for bids until notified by this office. <br />4, Following the bid opening, Part B, should be prepared in triplicate <br />and forwarded to the State agency. <br />5. Weibel, Director, Construction Grants Program. <br />The Alayor recommended Council request the Solicitor to prepare the necessary <br />legislation to abate a nuisance created by the J. & L. Turkey Farm, which <br />has denied residents the free use of their property in that area. It was <br />moved by Mrs. Hinkel, seconded by N1rs. Lynch that the Solicitor be directed <br />to institute a suit in the proper court to abate this nuisance. "Yeas" <br />Hinkel, Hixson, Kramer, Lynch, P~acDonald, O'Neill, Tdilson. <br />The Service Director reported he had received a communicc-~tion from the <br />County Engineer's Office, Mr. Albert Porter, submitting an ordinance of <br />consent for the removal of ice and snow from certain streets within our <br />municipality. It is requested action be taken immediately and certified <br />copies be returned to his office. The roads listed are as follows; <br />Barton road, from Southerly City Line to Lorain Rd,, Porter i~td,, from the <br />northerly city line to Lorain ~~d., Dover Center Rd., from th.e northerly <br />city line to Butternut Ridge Rd., Clague Rd., from the northerly city <br />line to R?astick Rd., Stearns rZd., from Lorain yqd., to the southerly city <br />line, McKenzie Rd., from Lorain to t.Ze southerly city line, Fitch Rd., <br />from Butternut ~2idge t?d. , to the southerly city line, P:astick Rd. , from <br />Columbia Rd., to the easterly city line, Cedar Point Rd., from Columbia. <br />Rd., to the eagerly city line, and Lewis Road from Cedar Point Rd., to <br />the southerly city line. <br />The Director reported relative to a communication pursuant to the bond <br />of Monson-?~tilliams Corporation. The insurance company is most interested <br />in the release under the bond, and it is their understanding that a release <br />could not be obtained even if the paving; work were done in accordance with <br />the specifications, since there are other items which must be completed, <br />inasmuch as there is also the problem of the Fraser Construction Company <br />unpaid invoice. They would like to have a definite understanding that the <br />release under the bond would not be held up, subject to payment of this <br />bill, if the bonding company were to undertake the repairs to Maria Lane <br />in accordance with the specifications indicated in our letter of September <br />14th, and further requesting a statement in connection with the Fraser <br />matter as well as other items t:~at would be required before they would <br />be in a position to undertake t?,e necessa.ry repairs. <br />The Director also reported relative to a request From the Committee of <br />Bus Drivers for a 10o hourly increase by October 15th. The original <br />request somehow wound up with the Finance Committee, but he will be <br />glad to have a negotiation tt,eetin~; on the 12th of this month at 8:00 P.i~!. <br />The Safety Director resorted activities of the Fire Department, with a <br />total number of 32 calls; the lolice Department, u,~ith a total of 227 <br />calls; the Dog Warden, with a. total of 39 calls. The Building Commissioners' <br />Report, dated October 6th, which could not be located at the moment, reported <br />41 permits issued at a total valuation of X256,050.00, <br />The Director also reported the Solicitor has prepared the fire agreements <br />with Olmsted Falls, Bay +Tillage, and Olmsted Township, for Mutua]_ Aid, <br />for a three-year period, <br />*** NTr.
