JULY 21, 1959 - PAGE 2.
T~ir. Michael J. Korinka, Builder, appeared before Council relative to the
undeveloped portion of Decker 3oad, on which he is now building houses.
He had spent approximately $900.00 to slag the road. It was suggested
he petition the property owners and get it paved and assess the property
owners for the paving. No one is living there at the present time, or
using the road, with the exception of the builder. The matter was referred
to the Streets, Sewers and Ditch Committee to come up with a recommendation.
Messrs. Barry & (Walsh, residents of Georgette Avenue, appeared before
Council relative to water in basements and the flooding condition in the
street. They also requested a decision on
culverting the ditch for use of the last two lots, and would also like
assurance they would not be required to assume any obligation on the sewer
and water line installations.
Discussion ensued relative to the subdivision insofar as the manholes
being of standard requirement; whether or not the sewer and water is
adequate, (which would require investigation before Council could commit
themselves); the bond of rTonson-r~iilliams; the lack of inspection moneys
posted; and the tiling of the culvert. The matter was turned over to
the Streets, Sidewalks, Sewers, and Ditch Committee for further study.
The Engineer reported his estimate for paving, walks, and culverting at
X14,340.00, and that the bond for $12,500.00 is insufficient.
Nir. State Statute gives authority to the Safety Director to proceed
with such rules and regulations without approval of Council; and therefore,
it was moved by Mr. Hixson, seconded by Mr. 'vr'ilson, the ordinance be put
up to a vote.
