JUNE 2, 1959 - PAGE 3. <br />The Safety Committee met and discussed the matter of having Police <br />protection at public affairs throughout the City, a.nd recommended <br />the Safety Director make the necessary arrangements to have someone <br />at these doings. <br />In regards to the probability of a full time inspector, Committee <br />felt this could not be accomplished at this time. <br />Also discussed was the purchase of new fire hose, a Jeep for grass and <br />auto fires, and a new fire truck, in the amount of $30,000.00 to be <br />placed on the November ballot to take care of all of this equipment. <br />However, since the sewer bond issue is to be on the ballot, Committee <br />recommended the purchase of the necessary amount of hose, and that the <br />Jeep and Fire truck be placed on the May bdl.lot. It was decided to <br />investigate as to how long it would take to get a fire truck, and it <br />will be discussed further at the next Council meeting. <br />The Streets, Sewers, Sidewalks, and Ditch Committee will meet on the <br />16th of June at 7:00 P.M., with the Engineer and Service Director to <br />go over Olmsted Colony and whatever Committee might have at that time. <br />The Mayor recommended Council consider the East Ohio Gas Company <br />ordinance regulating and fixing of increased rates for the City of North <br />Olmsted be put on first reading in order to continue the francise. <br />Ordinance No. 2857 was introduced by Mrs. Lynch. An ordinance regulating <br />and fixing the price at which the East Ohio Gas Company, its successors <br />and assigns, shall be required +,o furnish natural gas to the City of <br />North Olmsted and its inhabitants.,, The ordinance was given its first <br />reading only. , 11j~ + , + ' ' <br />--. <br />Mr. Hixson reported the Municipal Properties Committee concurred with <br />the opinion of the Finance Committee for the construction of the addition <br />to the Police Station fcr a new jail, and the service garage. <br />Resolution Ne. 2858 was introduced by Mr. MacDonald. A resolution <br />adopting the Rules and Regulations for the members of the Fire Department <br />_ L <br />for the City of North Olmsted. ' ~ ~ <br />~ The resolution was given its first reading <br />only. <br />It was moved by Mr. Hixson, seconded by Mrs. Hinkel, that the City of <br />North Olmsted join in with other municipalities by expending an amount <br />not to exceed $150.00 to hire legal counsel in opposing the East Ohio <br />Gas rate increase. "Yeas" Hinkel, Hixson, Kramer, Lynch, MacDonald, <br />O'Neill, Wilson. <br />It was moved by Mr. Kramer, seconded by Mr. O'Neill, Mr. Hazelton's <br />absence be excused. "Yeas" Hinkel, Hixson, Kramer, Lynch, MacDonald, <br />O'Neill, Wilson. <br />The meeting adjourned to the call of the Clerk at 9:50 F. M. <br />E. M. ristman, Clerk of Council m <br />
