<br />Resolution No. 2836 was introduced by Mr. Kramer. A resolution authorizing
<br />the Director of Public Service to advertise for bids for the furnishing
<br />of 1500 tone of slag for the City's 1959 road improvement program, and
<br />declaring an emergenay. It was moved by Mr. Kramer, seconded by Hr. Wilson
<br />that the statutory rule be suspended and the resolution be read immediately
<br />the second and third times and put on its passage. The affirmative vote
<br />on said motion was as follows: Hinkel, Hixson, Kramer, Lynch, MacDonald,
<br />O'Neill, Wilson. Thereupon, the resolution was read the second and third
<br />times and put on its passage and the affirmative vote thereon was as
<br />follows: Hinkel, Hixsoa, Kramer, Lynch, MacDonald, O'Neill, Wilson.
<br />Resolution No. 2837 was introduced by Mr. Wilson. A resolution authorizing
<br />the Director of Public Service to advertise for bids for the furnishing
<br />of labor and material to the City of North Olmsted in its resurfacing
<br />program for the streets and highways in said city during the year 1959,
<br />and declaring an emergency. It was moved by Mr. Wilson, seconded by Mr.
<br />O'Neill that the statutory rule be suspended and the resolution be read
<br />immediately the Second and third times aad put on its passage. The
<br />affirmative vote on said motion was as follows: Hinkel, Hixson, Kramer,
<br />Lynch, MacDonald, O'Neill, Wilson. Thereupon, the resolution was read
<br />the second aad third times and put on its passage and the affirmative
<br />vote thereon was as follows: Hinkel, Hixson, Kramer, Lynch, MacDonald,
<br />O'Neill, Wilson.
<br />The Service Director recommended the Municipal Property Committee negotiate
<br />for the purchase of the IIpp property to be used for street purposes for
<br />Brookpark Extension.
<br />The Safety Director reported Police Car No. 63 was one year old, and
<br />inasmuch as it has only 25,000 miles, recommended keeping this car and
<br />advertise for bids on a new police car. The matter was referred to the
<br />Finance Committee.
<br />The Safety Director reported that laboratory tests cost $10.00 per test
<br />to the City of Berea, and recommended the purchase of a Breathalyzer
<br />in the amount of $655.00, including 48 test kits, training and shipping.
<br />The Solicitor suggested that the Director check with the Police prosecutor
<br />inquire if these tests would hold up in Court.
<br />Ordinance No. 2838 was introduced by Mr. MacDonald. An ordinance employing
<br />the firm of Hayden-Miller Co., as fiscal agents in the sandtary sewer program
<br />for the City of North Olmsted and declaring an emergenay. It was moved by
<br />Mr. MacDonald, seconded by Mrs. Hinkel, that the statutory rule bs suspended
<br />and the ordinance be read immediately the second and third times and put
<br />on its passage. The affirmative vote on said motion was as follows:
<br />Hinkel, Hixson, Bremer, Lynch, MacDonald, O'Neill, Wilson. Thereupon,
<br />the ordinance was read the second and third times and put on its passage
<br />and the affirmative vote thereon was as follows: Hinkel, Hixson, Kramer,
<br />Lynch, MacDonald, O'Neill, Wilson.
<br />Mr. Wilson presented a petition from residents of Twin Circle Drive,
<br />"ft~" for the installation of gutters and curbing. The matter was referred
<br />to the Engineer.
