COtTNCIL MEETING - JANiJARY 20th - PAGE 4 <br />The Mayor advised that there will be additional joint meetings in the <br />future with the Transportation Committees of North Olmsted and Fairview <br />Park. <br />Mrs. Lynch reported relative to a communication from Cleveland Illuminating <br />Company which listed traffic lamp installations. She also read a letter <br />from the Academy of Medicine, wherein an invitation was extended to Council <br />to attend a Traffic Safety Program. <br />The Mayor was excused at, approximately, 9:40 P.M. <br />Mr. MacDonald, Streets, Sidewalks, Sewers & Ditches Committee, reported <br />that the letter from Council, requesting that citizens write the Committee <br />relative to their opinions on the Sewer Program, had been published. He <br />advised that the letters already received showed considerable thought on the <br />issue. <br />The President of Council advised that an invitation had been extended by <br />Mr. Ford, Chairman of the Charter Commission, for three members of Council <br />to speak before their group. The Legislative Committee requested that the <br />Commission be contacted, in order that they might attend the meeting of <br />January 29th, rather than January 22nd. The President of Council stated <br />that he will make the necessary arrangements. <br />The Service Director requested that he be advised of the next meeting of <br />the Streets, Sidewalks, Sewers & Ditches Committee, due to the fact that a <br />survey has been prepared by the Engineer in connection with the Frank Street, <br />Clifford Avenue and Claque Road area. <br />It was moved by Mr. MacDonald, seconded by Mr. Hixson, that the Engineer <br />proceed with preparation of drainage plans for the Garden City area. <br />"Yeas" Hixson, Kramer, Lynch, MacDonald, O'Neill, Wilson. <br />In answer to Mr. O~Neill, the President of Council advised that it would <br />not be necessary for another appointment to be made to the Safety Committee, <br />in connection with consideration of the contract with Berea for the crime <br />laboratory. <br />Mr. Wilson requested that reconsideration be given to the postponement of <br />the election for Councilman of Ward No. 3, inasmuch as nominations had <br />already been made. <br />The President of Council advised that motion for reconsideration has to be <br />made by one voting with the majority. <br />The meeting adjourned to the call of the Clerk at 9:58 P.M. <br />/z <br />,J <br />- `~! ~' <br />E.
