January 6, 1959 - PAGE 4, <br />Mr. Ford, Chairman of the Charter Commission, reported the Commission <br />had its first meeting Thursday night, and extended an invitation to <br />Council to attend, and requested an appointment of three members of <br />Council to express the City's wishes on the type of Government to be <br />used. Appointed were Mr. Hinkel, Mr. MacDonald, and Mr. Wilson, to <br />represent Council on the Charter Commission. <br />upon the recommendation of the Safety Director <br />The Actiag Safety Director recommended the position of detective be <br />created, a salary established for this position, and that the necessary <br />legislation be prepared, He also recommended one additional policeman <br />and one fireman be considered for each department, which was referred to <br />the Safety Committee for consideration, <br />Mr. Norman Morley appeared before Council in behalf of the Suburbanite <br />Homes Subdivision and the use of a package sewer plant for the subdivision, <br />which was referred to the Sewer Committee for further study. <br />It was moved by Mr. MacDonald, seconded by Mr. O'Neill, Mr. Hinkel's <br />absence be excused, <br />The meeting adjourned to the call of the Clerk at 10:48 P.
