OCTOBER 7, 195$ -PAGE 3. <br />The Safety Committee also accepted the recommendation of the Board of <br />Building Appeals and the Building Commissioner in regards to the 10-day <br />waiting period. <br />The Safety Committee also recommended action on the Brian Stock matter <br />ralative to payment of the claim in the amount of $237.60. <br />Mrs. Lynch, Utilities Chairman, reported that the lights on Charles <br />Avenue are to be installed on November 18th, and that the Illuminating <br />Company recommended nine lamps on Brookpark, and nineteen lamps on <br />Lorain Road, at a cost of $90.00 each. This was referred to the Finance <br />Committee for further consideration. <br />Mrs. Lynch also reported she had contacted Mr. Klementowics, Director, <br />Department of Public Utilities for the City of Cleveland, for Mr. Timothy, <br />and was advised they would do nothing at this time, that even the new <br />Westlake School now being built had been refused water lines at this time. <br />Mr. MacDonald reported the Streets Committee met relative to the location <br />of sewers for Zone 1, East of Walter Road to Fairview line, and North <br />to Westlake, and the Committee approved all but four streets, which are <br />to be rechecked for the location of sewers. <br />Mr. MacDonald also reported Committee recommended acceptance of Careylane <br />and Allandale for dedication, as well as North Olmsted Estates, pursuant <br />to acceptance of the $1,000.00 bond for sidewalks unfinished and the check <br />in the amount of $750.00 for clean up. <br />Mr. MacDonald also reported that the residents of West 230th presented <br />a petition and would like to change the name of their street to Boundary <br />Drive. The petition is to be checked. <br />Mr. MacDonald also reported that the Committee recommended LeBerne Drive <br />also be dedicated upon receipt of sidewalk bond for incomplete sidewalks. <br />Committee also recommended W. 231st Street be dedicated with bond for <br />unconstructed sidewalks. <br />Mr. Wilson reported Maria Lane had been paved since last Council meeting; <br />however, several things are still to be done. The drop from the drives <br />to the street vary from 2 to 5 inches and two sections of curbing are <br />still missing. Until all is done to satisfaction, he would not recommend <br />unfreezing building permits. There is also a large piece of sewer pipe <br />which was rolled off property into the ditch, which should be removed. <br />The Service Director stated it would be removed. <br />Mr. Wilson reported the original money to be made available for bringing <br />Evelyn and Eleanor gives up to standard, had been reduced to approximately <br />$$400.00. He had talked to Mr. Bishop and the check to the Solicitor is <br />forthcoming. <br />Mr. Wilson also reported that Platters agreed to pay $1,000.00 for re- <br />surfacing, or putting serf ace on Theresa Lane, If the City would do <br />the ditch work, he would like to see it get done this year. <br />Mr. Wilson also reported the turn-around on Theresa Lane is approximately <br />fourteen feet short of being a proper turn-around, and recommended the <br />City try to collect some money for this. Molnar now resides in Florida. <br />It is estimated it would take approximately $5,000.00 to institute <br />proceedings, and recommended we try to get the money, that a committee <br />be formed to investigate the total costs of faults, establish and determine <br />costs, and proceed against- to that extent. <br />~ a ~~ <br />The Mayor stated that when actual damages are determined against the <br />responsible parties, Committee also take into consideration the time <br />involved to solve these particular problems, and authorize the Solicitor <br />to secure any funds for work that does not belong to the City of North <br />Olmsted, and Council resolve to so proceed. <br />It was moved by Mr. MacDonald, seconded by Mr. Hinkel, that when Committee's <br />final determination as to the cost to the City expenses involved, the <br />Solicitor is to take the necessary action to reclaim for the City the money <br />put into the proper improvements to complete the projects, "Yeas" Hinkel, <br />?iixson, Lynch, MacDonald, Kramer, O'Neill, Wilson. <br />
