JULY 1, 1958 - PAGE 3 <br />Resolution No. 2714 was introduced by Mr. Hinkel. A resolution <br />determining to submit to the electors of the City of North Olmsted <br />the question of issuing bonds for the purpose of pa~riag the property <br />owners' portion and the City's portion of the coat of constructing a <br />municipal sanitary sewerage collection and disposal system. It was <br />moved by Mr. Hinkel, seconded by Mr. O~Neill, that the statutory rule <br />be suspended and the ordinance be read immediately the second and third <br />times and put on its passage and the affirmative vote thereon was as <br />follows: Hinkel, Hizaon, Kramer, Lynch, O~Neill, Wilson. Thereupon the <br />ordinance was read the second and third times and put on its passage and <br />the affirmative vote thereon was as follows: Hinkel, Hizaon, Kramer, <br />Lynch, O~Neill~ Wilson. <br />Resolution No. 2715 was introduced by Mrs. Lynch. A resolution of <br />sympathy for Theresa K. Garsau. It was moved by Mrs. Lynch, seconded <br />by Mr. O~Neill, that the resolution be adopted as read. "Yeas" Hinkel, <br />Hixson, Kramer, Lynch, O~Neill, Wilson. <br />Ordinance No. 2716 was introduced by Mr. ~iizson. An ordinance employing <br />Olive Ownes as recording secretary of the Planning Commission for the <br />duration of the year 1858 and providing compensation therefor and de- <br />claring an emergency. The above ordinance was given its first reading <br />only. It was moved by Mr. Wilson, seconded by Mr. Hinkel, that the <br />ordinance be referred to the Finance Committee. "Yeas" Hinkel, Hixson, <br />Kramer, Lynch, O'Neill, Wilson. <br />Resolution No. 2700 was given its third reading. It was moved by Mr. <br />Kramer, seconded by Mr. O~Neill, that the ordinance be adopted as read. <br />"Yeas" Hixson, Kramer, O~Neill. "H'at's" Hinkel, Lynch! Wilson. There <br />being a tie vote, the President of Council voted "Nay". Resolution <br />defeated. <br />Mr. Hinkel stated his reason,for objection being the sewer levy, the <br />operating levy and the pumper for the Fire Department and he stated <br />that the Hospital Levy being on the ballot might jeopardize the <br />other levies. He also suggested petitioning for referendum vote on the <br />Hospital Levy. <br />Resolution No. 2701 was given its third reading. It was moved by Mr. <br />Kramer, seconded by Mr. O'Neill, that the ordinance be adoptsd as read. <br />"Yeas" Kramer, O'Neill. "Nays" Hinkel, Hinson, Lynch, Wilson. The <br />resolution was defeated. <br />Mr. Hixson stated that his reason for voting "Nay" was simply that <br />there was no sense in passing this ordinance as long as the other did not pass. <br />Mr. Harvey Levy of the Recreation Commission reported 1,100 children <br />were registered for the summer recreation program and 285 children for <br />the Learn to Swim program. He also stated they hoped to get the tennis <br />courts turned around and black topped shortly. <br />Mr. Hinkel reported regarding the stench at the Turkey :Farm on Lorain <br />Road. It was turned over to the County Board of Health and they would <br />like to alleviate this condition. <br />The Service Director stated he had purchased a new disinfectant which is <br />guaranteed to kill odors which is in itself odorless. There will be <br />a meeting of the Finance Committee on Wednesday, July 2nd, at 8:00 P.M. <br />There will be a public hearing on the 1959 budget on Juay 8th, 1958• <br />
