APRIL 15, 1958 - PAGE 3 <br />Resolution No. 2672 was introduced by Mr. MacDonald. A Resolution authorizing <br />the Director of Public Safety to advertise for bids for the purchase of a <br />stationwagon for general use by the Police Department of the City of North <br />Olmsted for an amount not to exceed X3,000.00 and declaring an emergency. <br />It was moved by Mr. MacDonald, seconded by Mr. Wilson, that the resolution <br />be adopted as read. "Yeas" Hinkel, Hixson, Kramer, Lynch, MacDonald, O~Neill, <br />Wilson. <br />It was moved by Mr. Hinkel, seconded by Mrs. Lynch, the So:Lieitor prepare <br />legislature to increase Building Department fees. "Yeas" Hinkel, Lynch, <br />O'Neill, Hixson, Kramer, McDonald, Wilson. <br />Mr. MacDonald then brought up the discussion of Gladland and Mr. Hazelton <br />~~° stated that it was dedicated in 1926 and from the present condition it is <br />hard to determine what the road would look like and the City definitely <br />should take on the responsibility of a gravel base for the possible better- <br />ment in the future. Mr. Barnes stated that Gladland is to get another coat <br />of slag in the very near future. <br />Mrs. Lynch asked Mr. MacDonald whether or not he was aware of a tree-planting; <br />program on Grace Road and Mr. MacDonald replied that he was unaware of any <br />such program at present. A discussion ensued as to whether it would be ad- <br />visable for the City to purchase trees for a tree-planting program and the <br />citizens plant the trees or vice versa. Mr. Hixson, Mr. Kramer and Mr. Wilson <br />will inquire into the tree program and advise Council. <br />Mr. Kramer then read a report from the Board of Health for the year of 1~s7• <br />Mr. Hinkel then advised of a complaint regarding a turkey farm and requested <br />information as to present restrictions insofar as location of such farms to <br />adjacent properties. Mr. Oviatt will contact Mr. Hinkel as to which ordinance <br />would apply. <br />Ivir. Wilson requested information as to the ruling on the sale of ice-cream <br />from trucks. It was decided by Council that a review of the New York Ordinance <br />covering this problem would aid greatly in making a determination. It was <br />moved by Mr. Hinkel, seconded by Mr. O'Neill that Mr. Oviatt obtain a copy <br />of the New York Ordinance involving the sale of ice cream from trucks. "Yeas" <br />Hinkel, Hixson, Kramer, Lynch, MacDonald, O'Neill, Wilson. <br />Mrs. Lynch advised that she had contacted the builder regarding the collection <br />of dust on Sunset Oval which has caused trouble for a year and a half. The <br />builder stated that he will put something on the street and he will pave <br />as soon as the weather permits. <br />Mrs. Lynch also reported that there have been complaints of "peeping toms" on <br />Columbia near Sbnset Oval. <br />Iylrs. Lynch advised that the drainage condition which prevails at Mastick <br />Stables actually constitutes a health problem. Mr. Oviatt's recollection was <br />that the former owner had a similiar problem when he first acquired the property <br />and the ditch was no doubt filled without the which constitutes the problem. <br />The Service Director and Mr. Dean will investigate the matter. <br />It was moved. by Mr. O'Neill, seconded by Mrs. Lynch, that the Solicitor prepare <br />;Y; the necessary legislature to adopt the clothing allowance for bus drivers of <br />~~~il- $75.00 the first year and X50.00 thereafter. "Yeas" Himkel, Lynch, Hixson, <br />Kramer, MacDonald, O'Neill, Wilson. <br />Mr. R. Myrice, 6160 Stearns Road, registered a complaint as to the condition <br />of the birm on Stearns Road which is a County Road and stated the condition <br />jeopardizes the safety and welfare of the pedestrians. The Service Director <br />advised that the County has agreed to repair the birm on Stearns and he <br />will contact them. <br />
