<br />The Building Commissioner's report was read showing that permits in the
<br />amount of X519,50 were issued during the month of December, and estimated
<br />cost of building eras 1x.14,050.00. Permits for the year 1957 were issued
<br />i_n the amount of X9,764.10 and estimated cost of building was X9,379,300.00.
<br />It was moved by Mr. Kramer, seconded by T~Ir. MacDonald, the Building Commissioner's

<br />The Nlayor made the following appointments:
<br />Mr. Ralph H. Parker to serve the unexpired term of Eddie Hixson
<br />on the Zoning Board of Appeals.
<br />Mr. Harry Krohn, Jr., to the Civil Service Commission - 3 years.
<br />Mr. Wilson and Mr. O'Neill to the Firemen's Relief and Pension Board.
<br />Mr, Hinkel and P~Lrs. Lynch to the Volunteer Firemen's Dependents Fund
<br />Board.
<br />Mr. Kramer to the Community Hospital Board.
<br />It was moved by Mr. Hixson, seconded by 2~Ir. Hinkel, that the above appointments
<br />be approved. "Yeas" Hi.nkel, Hixson, Kramer, Lynch, YLIacDonald, O'hleill, tvilson.
<br />Resolution No. 2615 was introduced by T•~r. MacDonald. A resolution directing
<br />the Auditor of Cuyahoga County to pay to the city of North Olmsted, during
<br />the year 195$, all tax money due and owing said city, from any tax collection
<br />source, and declaring an emergency. It was moved by Mr. MacDonald, seconded
<br />by Mr. Hinkel trat the statutory rule be suspended and the resolution be read
<br />immediately the second and third tunes and put on its passage. The affirmative
<br />vote on said motion was as follows; Hi.nkel, Hixson, Kramer, Lynch, M~.cDona:Ld,
<br />O'Neill, Wilson. Thereupon, the resolution was read the second and third tames
<br />and put upon its passage and the affirmative vote thereon we.s as follows:

<br />Ordinance No. 2616 was introduced by Mr. Wilson. An ordi_rLance creating the
<br />office of Service Director and repealing the ordinance providing for the
<br />creation of the office of Service-Safety Director, known as Ordinance No.
<br />936, enacted on the 15th day of January, 1952, providing compensation for
<br />said office and declaring an emergency. It was moved by Nir. Hixson, seconded
<br />by r~~r•. ~Jilson that the statutory rule be suspended and the ordinance be read
<br />the second and third tithes and put on its passage. The affirmative vote on
<br />said rnotion was as follows: Hinkel, Hixson, Lynch, MacDonald, ±vlson. "PJa;ys"'
<br />Kramer, O'Neill. Therefore Ordinance 2616 wa.s given its first reading only.
<br />A discussion followed the reading of the ordinance and trte P~ayor presented ,~.
<br />letter of explanation for the purpose of clarifying the ordinance.
<br />An ordinance creating the office of Safety Director was introduced by I~Ir.
<br />Hinkel. The Solicitor explained the duties of a Service Director and a
<br />Safety Director. Inasmuch as the ordinance creating the office of Service
<br />Director was not passed, both ordinances were referred to the Safety Committee
<br />for further study and consideration and a report and recorrunendation will be
<br />made back to Council at the next meeting.
<br />Mr. Kuhn of Floyd Browne & Associates offerred his services to the new officials
<br />of the City to acquaint them with the progress of the sewer program to date,
<br />the methods of handling and recommendations for it in the future.
<br />Ordinance No. 2617 was introduced by Mr. Kramer. An ordinance to make temporary
<br />appropriations for current exrer.~es and other expenditurE;s for the City of
<br />North Olmsted, Ohio, January, February, March, 1958. It was moved b;~ Mr.
<br />Kramer, seconded by l~s. P~acDonald, that the statutory rule be suspended and
<br />the ordinance be read immediately the second and third tames and put on its
<br />passage. The affirmative vote on said motion vaas as follows: Hinkel, Hixson,
