DECEIVER 17, 1957 <br />MINUTES OF A MEETING OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />NORTH OLMSTED, OHIO <br />Present were Dr. Lewis, Mayor; Robert L. Decker, President of Council; L. H. <br />Baker, Harry M. Crider, Wm. H. Kramer, Bruce i~ia.cDonald, Ralph G. Neubauer, <br />Geo. Porter IIT, and James F. Votava, Safety-Service Director, G. H. Schwenk <br />was absent. <br />Also present were F. G. Kitson, Solicitor; E. M. Christman, Clerk; and Everett <br />Dean, Engineer. <br />Moved by Mr. Neubauer, seconded by Mr. Kramer, that the minutes of December 3rd <br />be approved as read, "Yeas~~ Baker, Crider, Kramer, Neubauer, Porter, <br />The Safety-Service Director appointed Mr. Levi Morse, School Guard, to replace <br />Andrew Wood, effective December 20th, 1957. It was moved by Mr. Neubauer, <br />seconded by Mr, Kramer, the above appointment be approved. 'Yeas" Baker, <br />Crider, Kramer, Neubauer, Porter. <br />A communication was read from the Planning Commission recommending acceptance <br />of subdivisions No. 3 and 4 of Ohio Shores Construction Corporation, for <br />recording purposes only, providing a cul-de-sac is shown on the end of Ambour <br />Drive on subdivision No. 3, and provided a deposit of one and one-half (l~) of <br />the estimated cost of sewer and water installations for inspection of work, <br />and also provided cost estimates and approval of the sewer and water systems <br />is given by the City Engineer, <br />The Engineer reported the plans had been submitted and gave the following report: <br />"Water Plan Approved <br />Estimate Subdivision No. 2 & 3 .6,364,00 <br />Estimate " No. 4 7,274.20 <br />Storm sewer approved subject to increase in size of culvert crossing <br />Ambour Drive at Station 19+72 to conform to recommendation of Floyd <br />G. Browne and Associates in their Sewerage Report (Plate 11) dated <br />September 1957. <br />Estimate Subdivision No. 2 and 3 .~5,$H4.55 <br />Estimate Subdivision No. 4 .11,659.75 <br />Paving plan calls for 20 foot reinforced concrete without curbs. <br />This same type was approved and installed in Subdivision No. 1 and <br />approved for Subdivision No. 2, <br />This does not conform to Ordinance on Subdivision Improvements. <br />Estimate Subdivision No. 2 ~C 3 x.4,000.00 <br />Estimate Subdivision No. 4 16,000,00 <br />No plans were submitted for concrete walk. <br />Estimate Subdivision No. 2 & 3 x+3,300.00 <br />Estimate Subdivision No. !~ 4,000.00 <br />Plans for storm sewers should be revised to meet increased size of <br />culvert at Station 19+72, also plans completed and submitted for walks <br />before acceptance.i~ <br />Signed: Everett N. Dean, Assistant Engineer <br />A communication was read from the Planning Commission recommending the accept- <br />ance of the plat of Mr. Alexander Steve for the Barton Road Subdivision, <br />consisting of six lots, for recording purposes only, <br />Mr. Kramer reported the Finance Committee met with the Safety Committee and <br />it was recommended an increase of 5~ in salaries for Firemen and Policemen <br />be given, and Volunteer Firemen salaries be increased from X4.00 to X5.00 <br />for night men. The raise is to become effective January 1, 1958. <br />Mr. Porter, Chairman of the Safety Committee, reported that Police and Firemen <br />had requested a 15~ increase in March and were given 6~, and are now asking <br />10~ and the Committee recommended 5~, making an increased expenditure of <br />approximately X6,500.00 per year. <br />Mr. Neubauer reported Decker Road lighting is on the plans to be completed <br />by December 13th, along with several other streets. This will bring the total <br />to 508 lights installed. <br />
