Lewis, Mayor, <br />L. H. Baker, Harry K. Crider, Ralph G. Neubauer, Geo. Porter III, G. H. Schwenk, <br />Bruce MacDonald, and James F. Qotava, Safety-Service Director. Wm. H. Kramer <br />was absent. <br />Also present were F. G. Kitson, Solicitor; ~. M. Christman, Clerk; and Everett <br />Dean, Engineer. <br />Moved by Mr. Baker, seconded by Mr. Porter, that the minutes of October 1st <br />be approved as corrected. "Yeas" Baker, Crider, MacDbnald, Neubauer, Porter, <br />Schwer~lc. <br />The Safety-Service Director advised that all the complaints on Claque Road <br />had been recorded and forwarded to the Cleveland Water Department and Contractor <br />for the High Pressure Main. An Engineer is to seat with our inspector to make <br />an inspection trip and everything should be corrected within a very short time. <br />Beech Lane fire hydrants were inspected and O.K.'d by the Fire Chief. <br />Mr. Neubauer reported regarding a discussion on Plats with Fairview Park, and <br />a further study is to be made by the Committee. <br />Mr. Neubauer reported on the meeting with Fairview Park. There are to be <br />amendments to the Franchise and another meeting on the 21st. The ordinance <br />is in their hands. Contemplated changes in the bus runs between the old and <br />new contracts were announced, with possible Monday and Thursday buses for <br />the shoppers over the contract. A Resolution of Intent was issued and there <br />will be a special meeting of our Council when it is passed. All changes are <br />to be incorporated in official form in the ordinance. The number of hours <br />worked per year by the Bus Line had been tabulated. <br />Mr. Crider stated he had received a letter from Ohio Shores Construction <br />Company appl3ririg for dedication of Ambour Drive. The Engineer stated they <br />had not completed the sewer check as yet. It was held over until the next <br />meeting. <br />Mr. Crider also stated he had a request to accept Charles Avenue and release <br />of bond. Council will receive a letter from the Engineer after inspection <br />of said street. It was recommended the bond be released and withhold X5,000.00 <br />pending approval and inspection by the Engineer and wait for another meeting <br />to take action on this. <br />Mr. Schwenk reported he had a conference with Scanlon about the trees. It <br />was recommended that the trees be planted in the Spring and that it be <br />announced in the Fairview Herald that the tress be planted in the Spring <br />rather than this Fall. <br />A petition for sidewalks on both sides of Geaaner Road was presented. It <br />was moved by Mr. Crider, seconded by Mr. Baker, that the petition be referred <br />to the Engineer for the checking of signatures. "Yeas" Baker, Crider, Mac- <br />Donald, Neubauer, Porter, Schwenk. <br />Mr. Strelau complained about the drainage problem on Coe Avenue... He would <br />bs willing to pay for the tale if the City would do the installation. It <br />would cost about X550.00 to X600.00 for a contractor to do the Sob. This <br />would include two inlets to keep the street dry. Mr. Kitson made a study <br />of the Benefit Basis for the paving of Coe Avenue and theta would be no <br />benefits over a wide area and could not be assessed on Benefit Basis. Mr. <br />Nettles suggested the pro3ect be presented to the people involved for a <br />cash deal. It was moved by Mr. Crider, seconded by I+4r. Baker, the Service <br />Director be instructed to get a coat established through a contractor for <br />tv~ catch basins and lead-in tiles on Elm Road. "Yeas" Baker, Crider, <br />MacDonald, Neubauer, Porter, Schwenk. <br />The Mayor proclaimed United Nations Day October 24th, and appointed Mr. Ray <br />Halt, Chairman, for the observance of U. N.
