<br />MINUTES OF A I+SKETING OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
<br />NORTH OLMSTED, OHIO
<br />Present were Robert L. Decker, President of Council, L. H. Baker, Harry M.
<br />Crider, inn. H. Kramer, Ralph G. Neubauer, Geo. Porter III, G. H. Schwenk,
<br />Dr. Lewis, Mayor, and James F. Votava, Safety-Service Director. Bruce
<br />MacDonald was absent.
<br />Also present were F. G. Kitson, Solicitor, E. M. Christman, Clerk, and
<br />Everett Dean, Engineer.
<br />Moved by Mr. Kramer, seconded by Mr. Baker, that the minutes of September
<br />17th ~ approved as corrected. "Yeas" Baker, Crider, Kramer, Porter,
<br />Schwenk.
<br />Moved by Mr. Schwenk, seconded by Mr. Kramer, that the minutes of the
<br />adjourned meeting of September 23rd ~ approved as read. "Yeas" Baker,
<br />Crider, Kramer, Porter, Schwenk.
<br />The Safety-Service Director advised there were seven bids received for
<br />Fitch Road Sidewalks. Bastardo Cement Contractor had the best bid at
<br />X20,719.20. The Board of Control advised that Bastardo Cement Contractor
<br />was the best bidder and recommended the award be given to theca. It was
<br />moved by Mr. Kramer, seconded by Mr. Schwenk that the a hove award be
<br />approved. "Yeas" Baker, Crider, Kramer, Porter, Schwenk.
<br />The Safety-Service Director advised there were Pour bids received for
<br />Decker Road Paving. The Northern Ohio Paving Company had the best bid at
<br />i24,©35.x• The Board of Control advised that The Northern Ohio Paving
<br />Compana}r was the best bidder and recomomended the award be given to them.
<br />It was moved by Mr. Crider, seconded by Mr. Baker, that the above award
<br />be approved. "Yeas" Baker, Crider, Kramer, Porter, Schwenk.
<br />It was moved by Mr. Schwenk, seconded by Mr. Crider, that the band of Joe
<br />Hoislbauer, Butternut Subdivision, Stadium Drive, to the Northerly line
<br />{ of sublot ~1~., in the amount of X1.8,000.00 by the United States Fidelity
<br />and Guaranty be approved. "Yeas" Baker, Crider, Kramer, Porter, Schwenk
<br />The Safety-Service Director stated that Engoglia and Cipiti did not put in
<br />catch basins on MacKenzie Road as agreed, and that we are holding X1,200.00
<br />as a cash bond. The Solicitor was advised to notify Engoglia and Cipiti
<br />to put in the catch basins within one week.
<br />The Safety-Service Director stated that we had a chance to get some land
<br />to widen Col~m-bia road at Carey Lane. It was moved by Mr. Baker, seconded
<br />Mr. Schwenk the Engineer prepare plans and specifications for acquiring
<br />the property on the south end of the curve at Columbia and Carey Lane.

<br />Mr. 3ehwenk reported regarding a meeting of the Transportation Committee
<br /># with Fairview Park. ~~~: The matter
<br />will be discussed further and a few changes made. There will be another
<br />meeting of our Committee and a report back to Council.
<br />Mr. Crider reported regarding the ditch on Charles Avenue. He talked to
<br />'~ Mr. Frank Yehlik, and inasmuch as Yehlik did not build the houses on the
<br />East side of the street, he felt there was no responsibility on his part,
<br />and that Greenfield Construction Company, who did build on the East side
<br />of the street, had gone bankrupt. Therefore, there is nothing he could
<br />accomplish.
<br />Mr. Crider reported regarding the property to the North of 6066 Burns Road.
<br />The lots have at~mmpa and trees partially uprooted and the holes fill up
<br />with water. It was suggested the Law Director instruct Alex Fodor to do
<br />something about eliminating the situation. Dr. Lewis stated Alex Fodor
<br />Realty Company had already been given notice by letter to take care of the
<br />situation.
