<br />~Mr. Crider reported he met with Mr. Lower, Mr. Mellenbrook, Mr. DeanJ~at
<br />Maple School, and that the 12" sewer on Frank was not large enough to
<br />take care of the school. All water should go West to the ditch except
<br />the septic tank. He also stated that the plans show this sewer to be a
<br />15" sewer. He also wanted to know who gave permission to tie into the
<br />Frank Street Sewer. The Engineer stated he was not consulted in the
<br />matter.
<br />Ralph Neubauer is now present.
<br />The Engineers estimate for paving Coe Avenue was X9,080.00, total frontage
<br />716.52 ft. The Engineer suggested that an Assessing Board be appointed.
<br />The Strelau's again voiced their opinion against the improvement. The
<br />Solicitor suggested we defer action for two reeks to make a study of the
<br />Benefit Assessment.
<br />Resolution No. 2559 was introduced by Mr. Crider: A resolution declaring
<br />it a necessity to improve Coe Avenue. It was moved by Mr. Crider, seconded
<br />by Mr. Neubauer the resolution be read immediately the second and third times
<br />and put upon its passage. The affirmative vote thereon was as follows:
<br />"Yeas" Crider, Neubauer, Schwenk. "Nays" Baker, Kramer, Porter. Being
<br />a tie vote, the President of Council voted "Yea". Moved by Mr. Crider,
<br />seconded by Mr. Baker, that the resolution be adopted as read. "Yeas"
<br />Crider. "Nays" Baker, Rramer, Neubauer, Porter, Schwerilc.
<br />Mr. Neubauer reported that the Electric Illuminating Compar:~y was installing
<br />street lights on Silverdale, Grace, and Root Roads.
<br />Mr. Neubauer reported he had complaints about the dead-end on Esther Avenue
<br />being dangerous. The matter was referred to the Safety-Service Director
<br />to see about signs or lights.
<br />Mr. Neubauer reported that at the meeting with Fairview Park, the raising
<br />of fares was discussed, and they Bugg®sted that the fares at the outer $ones
<br />be raised and another meeting will be scheduled to consider what should be
<br />done. It xas also recommended that the Butternu Rid a 9: 0 P.M. and
<br />Westwood 10:30 P.M. runs be put back on. The~IT~~`sp~~~~aion Committee
<br />will meet with Mr. Decker's Committee to review the situation. Also, Mr.
<br />Yeager of Westlake requested service on Center Ridge Road between Dover Center
<br />Road and the Westgata Shopping Center.
<br />A motion was made by Mr. Baker, seconded by Mr. Schwenk the Solicitor have
<br />two weeks to study the assessment of Coe Avenue by benefit basis. "Yeas"
<br />Baker, Crider, Kramer, Neubauer, Porter, Schwenk.
<br />A communication was read from Carl Bower requesting that we accept Beech
<br />Lane Subdivision for dedication.
<br />Ordinance No. z559~ was introduced by Mr. Neubauer: An ordinance accepting
<br />Beech Lane Subdivision for dedication. It was moved by Mr. Neubauer,
<br />seconded by Mr. Baker, that the statutory rule be suspended and the ordinance
<br />be read immediately'~the second and third times and put on its passage. The
<br />affirmative vote on said motion was as follows: Baker, Crider, Kramer,
<br />Neubauer, Porter, Schwenk. Thereupon, the ordinance was read the second
<br />and third times and put upon its passage and the affirmative vote thereon
<br />was as follows: Baker, Crider, Kramer, Neubauer, Porter, Schwenk.
<br />It was moved by Mr. Baker, seconded by Mr. Schwenk the Clerk be instructed
<br />to release the bond for Beach Laub Subdivision after inspection and approval
<br />of hydrants by the Fire Chief. "Yeas" Baker, Crider, Kramer, Neubauer,
<br />Porter, Schwenk.
<br />Mr. Cary Nettles inquired what was to be done about the mud and water on
<br />Coe Avenue. He was advised to wait on the Engineer's report and the
<br />Solicitor's report.
<br />The Engineer reported the City Water Department has not lifted the ban on
<br />installation of water mains.
