SEPTEMBER 17, 1957 <br />MINUTES OF A MEETING OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLAgSTED, <br />OHCO <br />Present were Dr. C. B. Lewis, Mayor, L. H. Baker, H. M. Crider, R. L. Decker, <br />W. Ii. Kramer, Bruce W. MacDonald, Ralph G. Aeubauer, G. H. Schwenk. <br />Also present were F. G. Kitson, Solicitor, James F. Yotava, Safety-Service <br />Director, Everett Dean, Engineer, E. M. Christman, Clerk. <br />It was moved by Mr. Baker, seconded by Mr. Saht~enk that the minutes of <br />September 3rd be approved as corrected. <br />The Safety-Service Director stated that bids were taken for tires, and <br />Penrose Tire Compares, inc. had the lowest and best bid. <br />Resolution No. 25116 was introduced by Mr. Criders A resolution authorizing <br />and directing the Director of Pub7.ic Service to enter into a contract for <br />the purchase of tires and tubes for use on mobile equipment owned and operated <br />by the City of North Olmsted. It was moved by Mr. Crider, seconded by Mr. <br />MacDonald that the statutory rule be suspended and the resolution be read <br />i~unediately the second and third times and put on its passage. The affirmative <br />vote on said motion was as follows: Baker, Crider, Decker, Kramer, MacDonald, <br />Schwenk. Thereupon the resolution was read the second and third times and <br />put on its passage and the affirmative vote thereon was as follows: Baker, <br />Crider, Decker, Kramer, MacDonald, Schwenk. <br />The Safety-Service Director reported that bids had been taken on the X1.17,100.00 <br />Street Improvement Bonds. Walter, Woody & Heislerdinger were the best bidders <br />with !~~ interest and X1,135.00 premium. <br />The Safety-Service Director announced that the fence at the Land Fill will be <br />finished this week. 1de will get evergreens in as soon as possible. <br />Mr. Decker, Chairman of the Safety Committee, stated that each year the F.B.I. <br />has a refresher course for policemen. This year it is November 11th through <br />November 8th, a #'1iEe-day session for X1.00.00, and that the Council give it <br />consideration and send a man and approve the expenditure of X100.00. A <br />motion was made by Mr. Cr3.der, seconded by Mr. Kramer, that the above <br />expenditure be approved. ~"7L'easn Baker, Crider, Decker, Kramer, MacDonald, <br />Schwenk. <br />Mr. Crider reported that the residents of Lucille Drive were satisfied with <br />the rough estimate on the cost of sidewalks. It was moved by Mr. Crider, <br />seconded by Mr. Baker, the Engineer prepare the plans for sidewalks for <br />both sides of Lucille Drive. ~Yeas« Baker, Crider, Decker, Kramer, MacDonald, <br />Schwenk. <br />Mr. Crider reported he~had a meeting Friday night with the residents of <br />Coe Avenue in regards to paving and curbing same. He stated that two <br />parties were in favor and one not in favor, and recommended that we go <br />ahead and pave as planned. Mr. Norm Strelau voiced his objections to it on <br />account of the cost. <br />Mr. Neubauer is now present. <br />Mr. Cary Nettles was i.n favor of it. It was moved by Mr. Crider, seconded <br />by Mr. Baker, that the Engineer prepare plans to pave and curb Coe Avenue <br />from Elxi Road to the end of the Tree Lane Development. Crider, seconded bar Mr. Baker, that the petition be referred to the <br />Engineer for certification of names, but to find out first what the City <br />Water Department policy is at the present time and in the near future. <br />"'Yeasa Baker, Crider, Decker, Cramer, MacDonald, Schwenk, Neubauer. <br />Mr. Schwenk reported that the properties Gommi.ttee for Playground properties <br />located one d-acre piece (The Hovon Property) adjoining Chestnut Ridge School, <br />could be purchased for X9,5oo.00.
