<br />recommended that we purchase both pieces of property. A resolution of the
<br />North Olmsted Board of Education, dated September 16th, stating that they
<br />would acquire six acres of the Henry_ Property from the City for school pur-
<br />poses for ~9,~00.00 and ass~e three-fifths of any additional expense incurred
<br />by the City for acquisition of said tract, together with three-fifths of all
<br />taxes and special assessments.
<br />Mr. Neubauer reported that the 'transportation Committee had a meeting and
<br />considered reducing some of the runs. Also, that the Coca-Cola Company wanted
<br />to pub an advertisement on the front of the buses for $3.50 per month per bus.
<br />It was moved by Mr. Schwenk, seconded by Mr. Baker, that the request of the
<br />Coca-Cola Company be denied. "Yeas" Baker, Crider, Decker, Kramer, MacDonald,
<br />Neubauer, Schwenk.
<br />Mrs. Robert Limpert complained about the careless manner which bicycles were
<br />being ridden. It was moved by Mr. Schwenk, seconded by Mr. Neubauer that the

<br />The Mayor proclaimed October 27th through November 3rd National Catholic Youth
<br />Week.
<br />The Mayor stated he had received complaints about the pavement on Ranchview
<br />Avenue. The Engineer stated he had talked to Dan Benuska twice, but no action
<br />has been taken. It was moved by Mr. Schwenk, seconded by Mr. MacDonald that
<br />the Mayor be directed to write to Dan Benuska and notify him to resurface
<br />Ranchview Avenue within thirty days. '"Yeasa Bakery Crider, Decker, ffiramer,

<br />Mr. Kitson replied to Mayor Lewis' inquiry as to the status of the 20 ft.
<br />strip adjacent to Whitethorn Avenue belonging to the Southwestern Savings
<br />and Loan Company. On March 23, 1957, written notice was sent to Southwestern
<br />Savings and Loan Company of the City's intention to appropriate the property
<br />for street purposes and was assured by Mr. Robert H. Spooner, Attorney, that
<br />no permanent structure would be erected either above or below the ground on
<br />the 20 ft. strip, together with telephone assurance from their architects,
<br />except that possibly a length or two of drain pipe would extend into the strip
<br />at the ends of the filter bed. This information was given to our Building
<br />Commissioner by ;hone from the Loan office anc~. personally, and the Building
<br />Commissioner was advised to check the plans when the building per*n~.t t;~%~s
<br />requested. ;then 1'•Zr. Kitson advised Southwestern Savings ar.d Loan. Company
<br />two weeks ago, he iA:as assured by N:r. Spooner that the filter bed would 'oe
<br />removed from the 20 ft. strip and re-layed elsewhere.
<br />Mr. Neubauer reported that street lights had been installed on Mildred Avenue,
<br />~,7est 232nd Street, and Esther Avenue.
<br />A petition signed by property owners on Root Road was read for removal of a
<br />safety hazard in the form of obstructing hedge on the North East corner of
<br />. Root Road, and low hanging trees on the tree lawn at Lorain Road and Root Road.
<br />A communication was read from Carl tiaettich, ~.G51 Clague Road, complaining
<br />about damaging his lawn after sidewalks were laid and then again after the
<br />ti-cater main was installed, and demanding the City restore it to its original
<br />condition.
<br />It was moved by N?r. Kramer, seconded by Pair. Schwenk, that the bond of Joe
<br />F. Hoislbauer, in the amount of X6,000.00 by U. S. Fidelity Guaranty be

<br />A communication from John R. Cloyd to Forrest G. Kitson, Solicitor, was read,
<br />which read in part as follows;
<br />Reference Westchester Allotment by English Brothers in North Olmsted,
<br />Ohio bond for paving and walks:
<br />The paving in the several Westchester Allotments as privately done proved
<br />to be not quite up to standard, which was not acceptable for release of bond
<br />not only by my office but by the Mayor and Council as a whole. About half
<br />of the streets were resurfaced and put in a better condition. The remaining
<br />
