? . <br /> <br />MI NUTES OF THE MEETI NG OF THE COUNCI L <br />THE CI TY OF NORTH OLMSTED, OHI O <br />JUNE 19, 1962 - 8:54 P.M. <br />Present were Paut J. Gareau, Mayor; Bruce Macaonald, President of Council, Henry <br />Caster, Ralph Christman, James Leonard, A.L. Nlangani, Norman Van Zandt. <br />Also present were Lloyd E. Barnes, Service Dir•ector; James T. Wilson, Safety <br />Director; George Sctraaf, Law Director; C. Andr•iano, Assistant Engineer; William <br />Gerlach, Finance Director; and Louise Hall, Clerk. <br />Absent: Dewey Limpert and Francis J. 0'Neill. <br />The minutes of the meeting of June 5, 1962 were approved as written. <br />The President of Council announced that nominiitions were open for Councilman of <br />Ward 4 to replace Mrs. Lillian Nicholas who re:signed as of June 15, 1962 because <br />she is moving from the City. <br />Mr. Mangani nominated Norman Van Zandt for Councilman of Ward 4. <br />Mr. Leonard nominated Alice Dobbins Rhine for Councilman of Ward 4. <br />Mr. Caster moved, seconded by Mr. Mangani, that the nominations be closed. "Yeas" <br />Caster, Christman, Leonard, Mangani. <br />A secret ballot was taken and the results weriB as follows: <br />3 for Norman Van Zandt <br />1 for A1 i ce Dobbi ns Rhi ne <br />As a majority vote is necessary, Mr. Mangani moved, seconded by Mr. Christman, that <br />the balloting continue. "Yeas" Caster, Christman, Leonard, Mangani. <br />The results of the second balloting was as follows: 4 votes for Norman Van Zandt. <br />The Mayor then administered the Oath of Office to Norman Van Zandt. <br />The President of Council advised that if all members of Council were agreeable Mr. <br />Van Zandt would assume the same duties on committees and chairmanship of the Legislative <br />Committee as Mrs. Nicholas hetd. <br />The Safety Director requested authority to advertise for a new police car as one <br />of the cars was a total loss due to an accident on June 10, 1962. <br />The Clerk read a communication from the Mayor whereby he vetoed Ordinance No. 62-88. <br />The Clerk read a communic?a onfrom the Engineer giving his approval for the proposed <br />name change of South Ridge Estates to Park Ridge Estates; and the name change of <br />South Ridge Drive to Park Ridge Drive. <br />Mr. Christmanmoved, seconded by Mr. Mangani, that the Service Director be authorized <br />to grade off/Mulder into a shallow ditch with no outlet on a trial section of <br />Butternut Ridge to ascertain if this may so1vF some of the drainage problems in <br />==?that area. "Yeas" Csster, Christman, Leonard, Mangani, Van Zandt. <br />
