MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE COUNCIL <br />TH E C I TY 0 F NORTH OLIMSTED, OH I 0 <br />JULY 3, 1962 - 8:20 P.M. <br />Present were Paul J. Gareau, Mayor; Ralph Christman, President Pro Tem qf Council; Henry <br />Caster, James Leonard, Dewey Limpert, A.L. Mangani, Francis J. 0'Neill. <br />Also present were Lloyd E. Barnes, Service Director; James T. Wilson, Safety Director; <br />George Schaaf, Law Director; C. Andriano, Assistant Engineer; and Louise Hall, Clerk. <br />Absento Bruce MacDonald, President of Council; Norman Van Zandt, William Gerlach, <br />Finance Director. <br />The minutes of the meeting of June 19, 1962 and June 20, 1962 were approved as <br />corrected. <br />The minutes of the meeting of June 22, 1962 were approved as written. <br />The Mayor advised that he was in receipt of a communication from the Board of County <br />Commissioners informing us of the cancellation of our contract with them for <br />Poor Reliefo This matter was turned over to, the Safety Committee for their <br />revi ew. <br />The Safety Director advised that there will be a Safety Tent again this year at the <br />Homecoming. <br />The Safety Director advised that the Fire De;partment has two old Pumpers at <br />Fire Station No. 2 which are takin8fup much needed space and stated that the <br />Service Director has requested ore/the Pumper•s be kept at the Disposal Plant as <br />standby equipment and suggested that the otFier be stripped down and put in <br />North Olmsted Park for children to play on. This matter was referred to the <br />Municipal Properties Committee to review afi:er obtaining the recommendation of <br />the F i re Ch ief . <br />The Clerk read the followin §,: <br />1. The minutes of the Special Meet!ing of the Planning Commission <br />of June 30, 1962 <br />2. A not i ce f rom the Fi re Ch i ef adv i s i ng of a Narth CenVra 1 and Lake Er i e <br />joint fire meeting on July 19, 11362 and inviting all City Officials <br />to attencl. <br />3. A letter from M. T. Scanlon regarding zoning on Lorain Road <br />between Decker and Barton Roads. <br />Ordinance No. 62-112 was introduced by Mr. iMangani. An ordinance authorizing the <br />Service Director to contract for the instaltation of sanitary sewer pipe under the <br />culvert on Parkridge Drive at a total cost not to exceed nine hundred dollars and <br />authorizing the Director of Finance to make payment therefor, and declaring an <br />emergency. It was moved by Mr. Mangani, seconded by Mr. Caster, that the statutory <br />rule be suspended and the ordinance be read immediately the second and third times <br />and put on its passage. The affirmative vote on said motion was as follows: Caster, <br />Christman, Leonard, Limpert, Mangani, 0'Neill.
