.a <br />. <br />MINUTES 0F THE MEETtNG OF THE COUNCIL <br />THE CITY OF NORTH aLMSTED, OHlO <br />DECEMBER 4, 1962 - 8:20 P.M. <br />Present were Paul J. Gareau, Mayor; Bruce MacDonald, President of Council; Henry <br />Caster, James Leonard, Dewey Limpert, A.L. Mangani, Francis J. 0'Neill, Norman <br />Van Zandt. <br />Also present were Lloyd E. Sarnes, Service Director; James T. Wilson, Safety <br />Director; George Schaaf, Law Qirector; Alex Kanareff, Engineer; and Louise <br />Hall, Clerk. <br />Absent: Ralph Christman, William Gerlach, Finance Qirector. <br />The minutes of the meeting of November 20, 1962 were approved as corrected. <br />The Servi ce Di rector advi sed that he had recei ved a corrrnuni cation from the <br />State of Ohio requesting the City to re:new the permit for the discharge of <br />water i nto Rocky Ri ver . <br />The Engineer advised that neither the atate or the County have plans for the <br />storm sewer on Lorain Road so therefore; he recommends that we not pursue this <br />study further at this time as it would entail too much time and expense but <br />that he feels this shouTd be done at a later date if the money is available. <br />The Engineer presented improvement planis for Woodview Subdivision No. 1 to the <br />Public Development and Service Committe:e for their approval. <br />The Clerk read a communication from A.F. Germ regard'+ng the drainage problem <br />on his property. <br />The Clerk read a petition signed by 34 residents of Brookpark Extension requesting <br />that the name of Brookpark Extension be changed to North Park Drive. <br />Mr. J. Walker, 24176 Rosita Lane, read a communication from the Deputy <br />Commissioner of the County Board of Health regarding the back-up of sanitary <br />sewer on November 10, 1962 and inquired what action had been taken to rectify <br />th i s s i tuat i'on . <br />Mr. Walker and other residents of Rosit,a Lane were advised that they could view <br />the pictures the Service Director had taken of the sewer and examine the report <br />afte'r the Counci 1 Meet i ng. <br />The Service Director requested authority to purchase a generator to use at the <br />LeBern - Clague Rd. pumping station in c;ase of a power failure. This request <br />was referred to the Finance Committee. <br />The Service Director requested authority to purchase sewer cleaning equipment. <br />Mr. 0'Neill advised that there will be a combined meeting of the Transportation <br />Committee and theFinance Committee at 7:30 P.M. on Monday, December 10, 1962. <br />Mr. Mangani advised that the City Planning Committee will resolve all matters <br />under consideration and advise their rec:ommendations at the next Council Meeting. <br />Mr. Limpert reported on the meeting of t:he Safety Committee and advised that <br />the purchase of a new ambulance is sxi)lbeing studied. <br />
