DECEMBER 18, 1962 - PAGE 2 <br />Mr. Leonard advised that he had been contactiad by J. Hoisibauer requesting the Cfty <br />to install the remaining gas street lights in his Subdivtsion and that the Pu41ic <br />Utilities Committee feels that this Subdivisiion wou}d have to follow the same <br />procedure as any other Subdivision but that if the developer desires to install the <br />street lights at his expense this would be aqreeable to the Committee, <br />Mr. Limpert, Ghairman of the Safety CommitteEa, requested the Law Director to review the <br />County Welfare Contract. <br />Mr. Limperi ;•equested the Law Director to giwe h}s opinion as to whether or not <br />Lorain Rd. is a divided highway and if motor'ists must stop both ways for a <br />school bus. <br />The L,aw D'+rector advised tha inhis opinion Lorain Rd. is4a divided highway and that <br />motoi-ists should not have to stop both ways for a school bus but that in accordance <br />with existing legislation traffic must stQp both ways and if Council desires traffic <br />to stop only in the rear of a school bus legislation could be passed amending the <br />existing laws as the state law only apPlies tq four lane highways outside of a <br />municipality. <br />After considerable discussion, Mr. Christman moved, seconded by Mr, yan Zandt, <br />that the Law Director be directed to prepare legislation amending the present ordinance <br />so that traffic stops only to the rear of a schoql bus on fqur lane htghways.
