MI NUTES OF THE MEETII NG OF THE COUNCI L <br />THE CI TY OF NOR7H OLMS1'ED, OHI O <br />DECEMBER 17, 196;; - 8:05 P.M. <br />Present were Paul J. Gareau, Mayor; Bruce MacDonald,, President of Council; Henry <br />Caster, Ralph Ch'ristman, James Leonard, Dewey Limpert, Francis J. 0'Neill, Norman <br />Van Zandt. <br />Also present were L. Barnes, Service Directoir; George Schaaf, Law Director; James <br />T. Witson, Safety Director; W. Gerlach, Finance Director; and Louise Hall, Clerk. <br />Absent: A. L. Mangani and Alex Kanareff, En, <br />.3ineer. <br />The minutes of the meeting of December 3, 1963 were approved as written. <br />The Mayor commented on the Mews release concerning May Companybuilding in North Olmsted <br />and expressed his appreciation of the suppor-t given by the various civic organizations <br />and also hisappreciation of working with the Council during his adminigtreS??ei,fnd <br />wished success to the new administration and to the outgoing Presideht/, aw rector <br />and members of his administration in their future endeavors. <br />The Presdient of Council advised that the meiBting was open for the Public Hearing pn <br />Ordinance No. 63-236 and Ordinance No. 63-237. <br />Ordinance No. 63-236. An ordinance amending Section 1212.01 of Ordinance No, 62-33 <br />(the Zoning Code of tMe City of North Olmste(l) as it relates to the size of parking <br />spaces required f'or affnstreet parking and repealing said Section 1212.01. <br />No comment was forthcoming from the citizens concerning the above Ordinance. <br />Ordinance No. 63-237. An ordinance amending the Zone Map adopted as part of Ordinance <br />No. 62-33 (known as the Zoning Code of the City of North Olmsted) by changing the <br />designation thereon of certain lands cpntaining about ninety-two acres more or less <br />and lying to the east and the south of the piresent easterly and southerly limits of the <br />Great Northern Shopping Center area hereinafter described by metes and bounds, from its <br />present designation thereon as Mixed Use Dis-trict to that of General Retail Business <br />District. <br />The Clerk advised that the Planning CommissicDn had approved Ordinance No. 63-237 as <br />amend ed . <br />Mr. W. Spalding, 5131 Andrus, advised that his was in favor ot the zoning change as <br />outlined in Ordinance No. 63-237 and expressed his opinion that now may be the time <br />to take a good lbok at the present commercial zoning to determine whether or not a <br />change is required. <br />Mr. A. J. Burin appeared before Council conerning th e Board of Zoning Appeals <br />let?er to Council advising their ruling on the interpretation of the term <br />"Motor-Hotel" as appears in the Zoning Ordinance and requested that Cpuncil review <br />the Board's findings and approve their ruling so that a building permit canbe <br />issued. <br />Mr. Caster reported on the Finance Committee's meeting of December 12, 1963 and advised <br />that the Committee recommends that the Electrical Inspector be paid a salary of $300.00 <br />per month effective January 2, 1964. <br />_ ? ??s,•
