Limpe:rt, Safety Service Director; Les Macs, <br />Chairman of the Planning Commission; Marg;aret West, Clerk. <br />Roll was called and minutes of the last meeting were read and approved. <br />Mayor Christman proclaimed May 24th to 30th Realtors' Week in the City of North <br />Olmsted. <br />The Mayor announced that Ray Bement was :;worn in on Monday, May 18th, as the new <br />Fire Chief. This was a result of the Civil Service exams. <br />Mr. Christman reported receipt of a lettE:r from the Department of Highways indicating <br />that the city's request for the change of° location of the shopping center driveway <br />has been approved, and a permit can now be granted. <br />North Olmsted Recreation Department has received an award from the American Red <br />Cross for co-operating in the promotion of water safety. <br />h? On May 12th the Mayor and the City Engineer met with Mayor Kirk and Engineer Myers <br />11 *1 of Westlake, and the County Engineer's ofEfice regarding tounty help in increasing <br />4 <br />the size of the culverts in the Sperry c:reek drainap area. Westlake officials <br />indicated they were unable to participatia in any culvert expansion at this time, <br />but they will remove the two 42" culvert;s immediately inside the Westlake line. <br />The County requested design calculations for the first culvert under Clague Road <br />downstream from the two 42" pipes and pictures of the old by-pass culvert on the <br />east side. This information is being priepared and will be sent to the County. <br />The Mayor reported that there have bEen quite a few calls <br />on the new notice for rubbish collection. It is recommended that it be changed <br />so that the Chief of the Fire Department may appoint a Fixe Marshall. <br />? The Legislative Committee also took unde.r consideration the establishing of fire <br />lanes on public and private property, and establishment of authority to police <br />same.
