/i' <br />November 4, 1964 - Page 4 <br />Ordinance No. 64-230 was read in full, An Ordinance fixing the compensation of the <br />membars of Council of the City to be elected. Before the vote was recorded, <br />Mr. Limpert remarked he would like to clear himself as to his way of voti.ng. <br />When this was brought up a year ago he voted "No", and his objection has not <br />changed. Mr. Foltz also stated that although he was not a member of Council <br />at the time when this was first introduced, he is satisfied that the Finance <br />Commitee has done diligent research in this matter and he is voting with this <br />in mind. Mr. West moved for adoption of the legislation, seconded by Mr. Foltz. <br />Affirmative vote thereon was as follows: Caster, Foitz, Hodgins, Manganf, West, <br />Negative vote m Leonard, Limpert, The motion carried. <br />Ordinance No. 64-231 was read in full. An Ordinance fixing the compensation of <br />the President of Council of the City of North Olmsted to be elected, Mr. Leonard <br />asked to go on record as thinking it is ridiculous and time-consuming for <br />Council to have to read legislation in full on the third reading, when it has <br />been under consideration for at least three meetings, and then be permitted to <br />pass legislation under emergency measures without any reading in fulln Mr. <br />Leonard then moved for adoption of the ordinance, seconded by Mr. Caster. <br />Affirmative vote was as follows: Caster, Foltz, Hodgins, Leonard, Mangani, <br />West, Negative vote was Limperta The motion passed, <br />Ordinance Noa 64-232 was read in full. An Ordinance fixing the compensation of <br />the Director of Law of the City to be elected. Mr. Caster moved, seconded by <br />Mr. West, that the ordinance be adopted. Affirmative vote thereon was as follows: <br />Caster, Foltz, Hodgins, Leonard, Limpert, Mangani, West. <br />Ordinance No. 64-233 was read in full, An Ordinance fixing the compensation <br />of the Mayor of the City to be elected, Mayor Christman stated he felt based <br />on his experience as Councilman last year when these increases were proposed, <br />and now as Mayor, that the proposed incrPase for the Mayor's salary would be <br />more compatible if the figure were $7,500, and he asked if some member of <br />Council would move that it be changed from $8,500 to $7,500, Mr. West, Chairman <br />of the Ffnance Committee pointed out that: it had been ten years since the last <br />increase, and that in eomparison to the amount of work involved and the salary <br />of other mayors in the vicinity, that the $8,500 figure is realistic. After <br />some discussion as to the hours of work involved, etc. Mr. Mangani moved for <br />adoption of the ordinance, seconded by Mr. West. Affirmative vote thereon was <br />as followse Caster, Foltz, Hodgins, Leonard, Limpert, Mangani, West. <br />Ordinance No. 64-234 was read in full. An Ordinance fixing the compensation of the <br />Director of Finance of the City to be elected, Mr. West moved for adoption of the <br />ordinance, seconded by Mr, Foltz. Affirmative vote thereon was as follows: <br />Caster, Foltz, Hodgins, Leonard, Limpert, Mangani, West. <br />Ordinance Noo 64-248 was given its second reading. Mr. Mangani moved, seconded <br />by Mr. Caster, that on Page 2 of the ordinance the word "east" be changed to <br />read "west", and after"Road", the words "and on the North side of Delmere Drive" <br />be added, "Yeas" Caster, Foltz, Hodgins, Leonard, Limgert, Mangani, West. <br />Ordinance No. 64-249 was given its second reading.
