A-sampl,e-ordinance, was delivered to the Clerk, and Chairman Caster will ask for preparation of leqislation as soon as _ possible. The Committee also discussed an ordinance to provide for drainage of surface water, which would apply anywhere in the Clty to any property being developed, and this leqislation wiil be asked for under New Business. Mr. Caster also reported on their discussion on arranqinq for the cost of storm sewer and improvements originating in Sandy Ridge #2 and ending in Westlake at Hollywood Drive. Developer of Sandy Ridge #2 , in order to give the area proper drainage, had arranged for easements, bought easements and dug a ditch to take away the storm water, incurring a great deal of expense. The Committee would like to have an ordinance drawn which would require-future develope.rs in the undeveloped area to share ln the cost of this ditch, by sei-ting a tap-in charge, which would help the developer recoup up to 50% of his original cost. The Enqineer will be asked to work out a charge for the area inuolved, and there will be a request for the preparation of legislation. Mr. Caster reported he will ask for legisiation tor the dedication of Sandy Ridqe #I. He further recommends amendme•nt of Ordinance 66-54, passage of Ordinance 66-62, and second reading for Ordinances No. 66-52 and 66--53. W 1 th rega rd to the request f rom the deve i ope,r of Dee-rpath #4 for remov i ng the requirement for planting trees, the CommIttee reeommends that the developer pay -b the City a cash fund for the trees which do not have to be planted. Mr. West, Chairman of the Finance Committee, submitted minutes of his committee's meeting. The recommendations for legislation will be requested under New Business. Mr. Mangani, Chairman of the Public Parks, Property and Recreation Committee, reported his committee had met to discuss the use of the capital improvement fund. They have narrowed it down to two projects, a shelter house at Claque Park similar to the Metropolitan Park shelter houses, a building 54' x 42 1, with a storaqe area of 12' x 21 ' included, which will cost about $7,000, and an 81 fence around Safety Town, which would cost somewhere around $1,500. For next year three tennis courts at the High School property are beinq considered. The Committee has also discussed the problems beinq encountered by a resident adjacent to Clague playground, but no complete answer has been yet been found. Mr. Mangani moved that the request from the Planning Commission for a thirty- day extension on North Land Developers be granted. Motion was seconded by Mr. West.
