A-sampl,e-ordinance, was delivered to the <br />Clerk, and Chairman Caster will ask for preparation of leqislation as soon as <br />_ possible. <br />The Committee also discussed an ordinance to provide for drainage of surface <br />water, which would apply anywhere in the Clty to any property being developed, <br />and this leqislation wiil be asked for under New Business. <br />Mr. Caster also reported on their discussion on arranqinq for the cost of storm <br />sewer and improvements originating in Sandy Ridge #2 and ending in Westlake at <br />Hollywood Drive. Developer of Sandy Ridge #2 , in order to give the area proper <br />drainage, had arranged for easements, bought easements and dug a ditch to take <br />away the storm water, incurring a great deal of expense. The Committee would <br />like to have an ordinance drawn which would require-future develope.rs in the <br />undeveloped area to share ln the cost of this ditch, by sei-ting a tap-in charge, <br />which would help the developer recoup up to 50% of his original cost. The <br />Enqineer will be asked to work out a charge for the area inuolved, and there <br />will be a request for the preparation of legislation. <br />Mr. Caster reported he will ask for legisiation tor the dedication of Sandy <br />Ridqe #I. <br />He further recommends amendme•nt of Ordinance 66-54, passage of Ordinance 66-62, <br />and second reading for Ordinances No. 66-52 and 66--53. <br />W 1 th rega rd to the request f rom the deve i ope,r of Dee-rpath #4 for remov i ng <br />the requirement for planting trees, the CommIttee reeommends that the developer <br />pay -b the City a cash fund for the trees which do not have to be planted. <br />Mr. West, Chairman of the Finance Committee, submitted minutes of his committee's <br />meeting. The recommendations for legislation will be requested under New <br />Business. <br />Mr. Mangani, Chairman of the Public Parks, Property and Recreation Committee, <br />reported his committee had met to discuss the use of the capital improvement <br />fund. They have narrowed it down to two projects, a shelter house at Claque <br />Park similar to the Metropolitan Park shelter houses, a building 54' x 42 1, <br />with a storaqe area of 12' x 21 ' included, which will cost about $7,000, and <br />an 81 fence around Safety Town, which would cost somewhere around $1,500. For <br />next year three tennis courts at the High School property are beinq considered. <br />The Committee has also discussed the problems beinq encountered by a resident <br />adjacent to Clague playground, but no complete answer has been yet been found. <br />Mr. Mangani moved that the request from the Planning Commission for a thirty- <br />day extension on North Land Developers be granted.
