Ne also requested that the developer submit a deed to the City <br />for the cluster portion of land. <br />Mr. Caster reported further that Mr. Labas has recommended that Waodview Sub- <br />division No. 2 be put on ftrst reading. David Drive is recommended far <br />acceptance. Sidewalk bond has not yet been posted on Noreen 5ubdivision. <br />Mr. Limpert is now present. <br />Mr. Caster announced that a meetinq has been set for March 9th at City Hall <br />to discuss the feasibility and possibility of installing sidewalks in <br />Garden City. Residents wil{ be notified. He will recommend that iegislation <br />be drawn to proceed with paving for Decker, Midvale and Southern. Legislation <br />wili also be requested for instructlons to the Enqineer to proceed with <br />sidewalk plans for pover Center Road. <br />The Municipal Development Committee also discussed assessment policies. There <br />has been no definite policy on assessing in the past, especially with regard to <br />corner lots. This wili be discussed further in committee. <br />Mr. Foltz, Chairman of the Legislative Committee, reported on their meeting, <br />held February 24th. They have discussed and recommend the following: <br />i. Amending Codified Ordinances Chapter 1501, to adopt the 1965 edition of <br />Fire Prevention Code of the AmeriCan Insurance Association, and to add Section <br />1501.10, covering an automatic fire extinguishinq system. This is strongly <br />recommended by Fire Chief Bement. <br />2. Amendment of the Ordinance No. 64-I10 which authorizes the Fire Chief to <br />estabfish fire lanes. It naw reads "...markinqs shail be placed and maintained <br />by the City", and should be changed to read "...by the property owner". <br />3. Amending Ordinance 2386 setting up sidewaik construction permits. As passed <br />in 1956, the fee was $40, with a refund possible. 1t is recommended that this <br />be changed ta a fee of $IO where qrades have been previously established, and <br />adjacent sidewalks are in. Otherwise, fihe charge is to be a$30,00 ffat fee <br />for ali other permits, with no rebates. <br />4. Amendment of Ordinance 2407, which creates the position of recreation <br />director, etc. The Legis{ative Committee worked with the Finance Commttee on <br />the pay recommendations made by Mr. Levy, and concur wifih them. They have <br />also chanqed some of the Job descriptions in the original ordinance. <br />5. Amendment of Section 121 of the Codified Ordinance dealing with the Rules <br />of Council. in Section (13) the names of the standing committees should be <br />changed to conform to those suggested by the President of Council at the <br />beginning of the year. <br />Mr. Foltz also reported that Council as a whole had met with Mr. Kenneth <br />Sagwe4f of WJW-TV and Mc.
