. <br />February I, 1966 - Page 2 <br />Mr. Caster also reported that the committee-had met with developers of City <br />Line No. 2 for a further discussion of culvert installation. A possible <br />solution to the problem will be splittinq the development into two portions, <br />allowing the culverting of the ditch to be taken care of later in 1966 or <br />early in 1967. <br />The Municipal Development Committee will present their report on objections <br />to the sidewalk assessments for the 1965 proqram to Council members within <br />the next few days, and action can be taken on it at the next meetinq. <br />Mr. West, Chairman of the Finance Committee, reported that they met on <br />January 20, 1966. They reviewed various budget requests, and requested the <br />Finance Director to put them in order, alonq with income. At another <br />commlttee meeting to be held on February 8th, the Committee will consider <br />the requests further. <br />The Finance Committee decided to request preparation of legislation authorizing <br />the expenditure of $1,200 for preparation of the annual report. <br />They also approved a request for preparation of legislation authorizing adver- <br />tising for bids for 1500 tons of slag and 400 tons of asphalt. <br />A discussion was held on a sidewalk assessment on Fleharty, and a complaint of <br />an overcharge for sewers. <br />Mr. West advised that the Finance Committee hopes to present the budget to <br />Council for approval at the next meetinq. <br />Mr. Mangani, Chairman, City Planning Committee, reported that they had been in <br />communication with Mr. Kitchen, Mr. Joseph Bauer and his attorney,.with the <br />result that legislation will be requested for the Olmsted Woods Subdivision, <br />with a stipulation that Beverly Hills #2 subdivision be vacated. <br />Mr. Mangani also reported that at a meeting between the School Board, the <br />Planninq Commission and Council, a discussion was held on the program for <br />school site locations. <br />Mr. Mangani announced a meeting of the Public Parks Committee will be held on <br />Monday, February 7th at 8:15 at the Council room. The Clerk was requested to <br />notify the Recreation Commission, the Safety-Service-Director and the Exchange <br />Club of the meeting, since the Exehange Club League Program will be under <br />discussion, along with other matters. IMMvc- <br />Mr. Harvey Levy, Chairman of the Recreation Commission,appeared before Council <br />to request that amendments be made in the pay scale for the summer playground <br />help. Pay in the past has been based on a four-day week, but it is the inten- <br />tlon ofi the commission to put the program on a five day a week basis this year. <br />He requested an increase from $80.00 to $100 for the male piayground directors <br />and a raise from $70.00 to $90 for the women direetors. Helpers' pay was <br />requested at $50 a week, a raise from the present pay of $40. The requests <br />10 were referred to the Finance Committee.
