? <br />`?A <br />Deeember 21st, 1965 - Page 2 <br />l.eg i s I ati ve Comm 1 ttee . <br />The matter of more traffic lights was r.eferred to the Finance Committee. <br />City Enginee-r Labas reporte<i that his Projeet Status report No. 4 had been <br />mailed to Council and fihe administ'ration, and asked whether there were any <br />questions. There were none. <br />Mrs. Hodgins, Chairman of the Safety Committee, reported that at their meeting <br />December 9th they recommended that the Safety-Service Director be authorized <br />to advertise for bids for equipment and labor for installing new traffic control <br />lights at Columbia and Lorain and for a detector at Whitethorn. <br />The Committee also recommend that legislafiion be drawn for "No Left Turn" <br />onto Brookpark from the westbound lane on Lorain. <br />Mr. Foltz, Chairman of the l.eqislative Committee reported that they met on <br />December 9th. They all concurred fihat the City should have compulsory retire- <br />ment at age 65 for all full-time city employees, with the exception ot the <br />Safety Department which is al)ready covered by Ordinance 65-241. <br />Mr. Mangani, Chairman of the City Planning Committee, reported that they met <br />briefly before Council with regard to fihe William Boettler subdivision on <br />McKenzie. They concur with the Planning Commission in approving this <br />two-lot subdivision. <br />After consideration ot the request of Mr. Orosz for a change in zoning in the <br />industrial area, the commitfiee concurs with the Planning Commission in not <br />recommending rezoning.. This is aiso in agreement with the recommendation of <br />the Regional Planning Commission as to the proposed change. <br />Mr. West, Chairman of the Finance Committee, reported that a copy of their <br />minutes is in the hands of Council. <br />Nq Sr? w n"4 u? +e_ <br />Mr. Neiswander, representing Televue Corporation, asked what further action <br />he should take on the matter of their application for a franchise, and relatcd <br />that he had met with the Utilities Committee and the Law Director,and had been <br />referred to the Legislative Committee. Further ciis:cussion on the matter was <br />delayed by President 0'Neill, pending the arrival of the Law Director. <br />Mrs. Moyes, 6190 Fitch Road, asked about progress on the petition she had <br />presented to the Clerk of Council requesting demolition of a building on <br />Fitch Road. She was advised that fihe petition had besn turned over to the <br />Building Commissioner who would advise the owner to bring the property up <br />to standard. Ninety days thereafter, if nothing has been done, Council can <br />then take further action on the matter.
