.- <br />December 7, 1965 - Page 7 <br />Mr. West requested that emergeney legislation be drawn, certifying to the <br />availability of the-City's portion ot the 701 Planning Grant in the amount <br />of $8,167. <br />Mrs. Hodgins requssted--that etnergeney legislatlon be drawn according to <br />Fairview Park Ordinance No. 931.08, regarding accessory parking facilities, etc. <br />Mrs. Hodgins inquired about the traffie lights at Canterbury and Lorain and <br />Berkshire and Lorain authorizied in Ordinance No. 65-136. Safety-Service <br />Director Limpert advised that approximately $1,000 could be saved in the cost <br />of installing lights at each interseetion by purchasing the equipment and <br />contracting separately for the labor. In answer to a question as to whether <br />the present legisiation permits advertising separately for lights and con- <br />tractors to instail them. Ordinanee No. 65-236 was read, and it was the opinion <br />of the Assistant Law Director that the ordinance as writter covered advertisinq <br />separately for the lights and installation contract. <br />Mr. Dewey Limpert requested the Finance Committee to study the amount to be <br />granted for the expense of the annua.l Safety Award Dinner for the bus drivers. <br />Mr. Llmpert moved that the Sefety-Service Director be authorized to put $200 <br />down on each of the three used buses recommended by the Safety-Service Director <br />until the Finance Committee could review fihe matter of the possible purchase, <br />and make a recommendation.* "Yeas" Caster, Foltz, Leonard, Limpert, West. <br />"No" Hodgins, Mangani. The motion passed. *Motion was seconded by Mr. West. <br />Mr. West moved that emergency legislation be drawn authorizing the Safety= <br />Service Director to advertise for bids on three used buses of 1953-54 vintage, <br />seconded by Mr. Limpert. "Yeas" Caster, Foltz, Hodqins, Leonard, Limpert, <br />Mangani. West. <br />After a lengthy discussion on the subject of the hours during which students <br />may use their bus passes, the matter was put back into the Transportation <br />Committee for furl-her study. For the present passes will be honored up to <br />7:00 P.M. for students leaving downtown. <br />Mr. Limpert moved that N}r. Mangani be appointed to fi16 the vacant post on <br />the Police Pension Board and that Mr. Caster be reappointed for another term. <br />Motion was seconded by Mr. Leonard. "Yeas" Caster, Foltz, Hodgins, Leonard, <br />Limpert, Westo Mr. Mangani abstained from voting. <br />Mr. West moved for adjournment, seconded by Mr. Foltz.
