Christman; President of Council Francis J. 0'Neill; <br />Henry Caster; Jack Fol,tz; Virginia Hodgins; James Leonard; Dewey Limpert; <br />A. Z. Mangani; John West. <br />Also present: J. Bruce Kitchen, Director of Law; W. L. Gerlach, Director of <br />Finance; Del Limgert, Safety-Service Director; Richard Labas, City Engineer; <br />Margaret West, Clerk. <br />The first order of business was a public hearing on Ordinance No. 65-177, <br />An Ordinance amending the Zone Map adopted as part of Ordinance No. 62-33 (known <br />as the Zoning Ordinance of the City of North Olmsted) by changing the designa- <br />tion thereon of eertain lands hereinafter described by metes and bounds from <br />its present designation thereon as Retail Busingss General to Class "A" Hi- <br />Rise DiStrict (Residential). <br />There being no one present who wished to comment at the public hearing, roll <br />was then called for the regular meeting of Council. <br />Minutes of October 5th were approved as read. <br />0 Mayor Christman announced the resignation of Henry Wonner from the Civil <br />Service Comrhission and requested approval from Council for the appointment <br />of George Schaaf to fill the vacancy. <br />The Mayor also announced the proclamation of United Nations Day Sundsy, <br />October 24, 1965, <br />Mayor Christman reported receipt of a letter from Dr, Van Auken, Superintendent <br />of Schools, requesting that the City arake the installation of sidewalks on <br />Midvale this year, if at all possible. He also suggested that the traffic <br />congestion at Decker and Lorain be improved by some sort of traffic light. <br />Engineer Labas reported a sidewalk bond is now on file for Treelane Subdivision <br />No. 2; and that aroney for trees has been deposited by Candlelight Subdiuision. <br />Mrs. Hodgins reported that at a Safety Committee meeting, the su$gestion from <br />the Automobile Club as to was discussed and rejected. <br />?'he ?ower3 af -the pol?C?. eh?e? <br />The Safety Committee recommends that legislation be prepared to enforee the <br />right turn only at the shopping center for eastbound traffic, and this will <br />be requested, <br />Mr. Foltz reported a Legislative Committee Meeting was held October 12 with <br />Dewey Limpert, Virginia Hodgins, John West, Building Commissioner Bundy and <br />Mr. Caster present.
