<br />October 19, 1965 - Page 2 <br />Mr, Milstein, associated with the hi-rise apartment being built east of <br />May's was present, asking for a review of our permit fees. After a check <br />of the fees charged in various other communities, the Legislative Committee <br />came to the conclusion that our fees are in line, and no further review <br />is necessary. <br />The committee agreed that legislation should be prepared establishing a <br />job classification for police and firemen working on off-time as inspectors <br />and officers. It will be requested. <br />Mr. Caster reported that the Public Service and Development Committee had not <br />met, but he will ask for legislation for improvement plans on Bretton Ridge <br />#4, and will have a report on this before the next meeting, <br />Mr. Caster reported the Appointments Committee concurs with the Mayor's <br />recommendation of George Schaaf to fill the vacancy in the Civil 6ervice <br />Commission. <br />Mr, Leonard commented that the Liquor Department has set a hearing at 1:00 <br />P.M. in Columbus on November 3rd on the application of William Thomas Mack <br />for a liquor license, and that he will see to it that someone is there on <br />behal f of the c ity . <br />Mr, West reported two meetings of the Finance Committee were held, on October <br />7th and October 12th. At the first meeting they reviewed the balance of <br />appropriations for 1965 and have asked for legislation which is on the agenda <br />as Ordinance No. 65-248, Among the things covered was money for one of the <br />two trafPic lights which have been requested. The second light will be <br />covered by the 1966 appropriations, Also provided for were the two new police <br />cara, sidewalks on Midvale, and a new salary schedule for the Sewage Plant <br />workers on the organization set-up approved by the Legislative Committee. <br />At the second meeting the committee met with the police and firearen's committeea <br />to discuss salary ranges as: reviewed and placed in 1966 budget, and the <br />committee will ask for legislation on this, <br />Mr. Mangani called attention to Ordinance No, 65-262 which has been prepared <br />for applying for the Federal Grant for a master plan, in accordance with his <br />report at the last meeting. <br />He also read a communication from the Planning Commission regarding two sub- <br />divisions, Rolling Acres and City Line, inc,, on which they asked for a time <br />extens ion of thirty days for further study. <br />Mr. Mangani reported that Sandy Ridge #2 has been approved by the Planning <br />Commission and he will ask for legislation. <br />The Clerk read a letter signed by property owners on West 237th asking ?hat <br />the name be changed to Brendan Lane, The matber was referred to the City <br />Planning Committee.
