. <br />. ? <br />MINUTES OF TH E MEETING OF THE COUNCIL <br />THE CITY OF NORT'H OLMSTED, OHIO <br />July 6, 1965 <br />8:11 P.M. <br />Present: Mayor Ralph E. Christman; President of Council Francis J. 0'Neill; <br />Henry Caster; Virginia Hodgins; James,Leonard; Dewey Limpert; A. L. Mangani. <br />Also present: Law Director J. Bruce Kitchen; Finance Director W. L. Gerlach; <br />Safety-Service Director Del Limpert; City Engineer Richard Labas; Clerk of <br />Council Margaret West, <br />Absent: Jack Foltz; John West, <br />Minutes of the meeting of June 15th were corrected as follows by Mr. Caster: <br />On Page 12, third paragraph, "Mr. Caster moved that legislation be prepared to <br />accept the preliminary plans as to ingress and egress to Zayre's from Brookpark" <br />should read "Mr. Caster moved that the preliminary plans for ingress and egress <br />from Zayre's to Brookpark be accepted, and sent to the Ohio State Highway Depart- <br />ment for their evaluatian and recommendations". The minutes were then approved <br />as carrected. <br />Minutes of the special meeting of June 22nd were approved as read. <br />Minutes of the special meeting of June 24th were approved as read. <br />The public hearing on the budget for 1966 was declared open. There being no <br />comments, Council then proceeded with the regular order of business. <br />Mayor Christman reported the County has requested the City's permission to do <br />some berming on Stearns and McKenzie to cut down high spots which are preventing <br />proper drainage into the ditches. Work will start some time this week, <br />The Mayor also reported that the sewer trunk line on Mastick from Park Lane to <br />Columbia has been tested and accepted and connection notices will be mailed <br />shortly, <br />Mayor Christman read a proclamation making July 18th, 1965 the Hot Stove Baseball <br />League Day, <br />Safety-Service Director presented a written report in which he requested release <br />of the sidewalk bond for Pacer Construction in Stoneybrook, and requested Council <br />to increase the Fire Chief's salary by $500 per year, The matter of the salary <br />increase was referred to the Finance Committee for consideration. <br />Mrs. Hodgins, Chairman, Safety, Health and Welfare Committee, reported they met <br />on June 17th with two members present. It is their recommendation that police <br />and firemen working on their off hours receive 3rd class pay. This recommenda- <br />tion has been turned over to the Safety-Service Director. <br />The question of traffic lights at Canterbury and Lorain and Stearns and Lorain <br />was also considered by the committee. It was the consensus of the committee <br />that the whole traff ic problem on Lorain should be studied more thoroughly. <br />
