the School Board, William Mohr, who was present at Council meeting.
Mr. Mohr advised that t'here are no figures avaflable to compare a five-acre Glass
A residende and certain type of apartment. In a study made state-wide by the
school boards three years aga9 it was establfshed that any single dwelling does
not pay enough tazes to support the chfldren who attend public school, The City
loses money on every single house buflt staxes ta support the schools have to
come from other arease The surwey showed that apartments juat about break even
as to cost of students produced by the apart.ment,
In North Olmsted we would average roughly one student per individual dwelling in
public schools. Garden-type apartments average 1/3 child, not necessarily in
public schools, Today these, ffgures on garden-type apartments do not seem to
be quite accurate. In multiple-st.ory apartments in this city, the city more
than breaks even because of the lesser number of children of school age in multiple-
story apartments.
President 0'Neill expressed hfs thanks to Mr. Mohr for coming to Council.
A petition signed by residents of Mitchell Drive requesting that it be a dead-end
street, or if that be not possible, that entrance from Great Northern Boulevard
into Mitchell be prohibfted, was read by the Clerk and referred to the City
Planning Committee for study.
A,petition from residents on Fairlawn and Rosita Lane requesting relief from the
nuisance created by dogs and dog-breeding in the neighborhood was read by the
Clerk, and the matter referred to the Safety-Service Director for action.
the City of North Olmstec), by changing the designation thereon of certain lands
hereinafter describpd by metes and bounds from its present designation thereon
as a Mixed Use District ta Class A-Hi-Rise District (Residential). President
0'Neill explained that even though an article in this evening's paper had stated
„ that the ordinance would not be acted on at Council tonight, the article was
;4n error, and this informatfon had not been given out by the City. Mr. Mangani
