May 18, 1965 - Page 3 <br />this is the plan whereby the Federal Government wYYl grant tc? comm4nfties, <br />through a state planning agency, up to 2r3 of the cost of a planning program, <br />It has been recommended that we enter thfs program, which it is estfmated <br />will cost somewhere in the neighbor•hood of $30,000, Cost tc the city would <br />be $10,000, and we would have to pay half of our cosfa immediately. <br />4, Cottonwood Trail prelbminary plat -the committee is holdrng thiv until <br />sanitary sewer arrangements are worked out in the ax°ea. <br />At the meeting on May 17th of the City Planning Cmmmittee r?hey discussed <br />Sandy Ridge Subdivision #2, and are recommending to the Planning Commission <br />that the 9+ acres accruing from this cluster° development be added to another <br />proposed site west of Dover, which would give a combined area of 20 acres, <br />better situated for recreational purposes. A new plat sfimwing sanitary <br />sewer easements and a private recreational area far th?e subdivision will be <br />required, <br />Mr. Ray Dykes, 25136 Kennedy Ridge, spoke of his ogposftion to the plan to <br />dead-end Kennedy Ridge on both sides of the proposed new highway 252. He <br />feels the freeway should come first befare gobng ahead with relocation of <br />Golumbia. He also objected to the taking of twelv? ?ouses and 1500 feet from <br />the tax duplfcate, when the City needs tax money*o <br />Mr, Nicholas Weber, 24715 Kennedy Ridge, ask.ed wrether anydne had checked <br />out the apartments now in North Olmsted, to see how many school-age children <br />are in thear, and whether we have actually had a net gain in tax valuation <br />as was suggested at the hearing last Thursday at the Gabin, <br />Mayor Christman reported that the School Board ran a survey of the first one <br />turdred apartments in North Olmsted, which indicated that 1/3 chi1d per suite <br />is correct, and that the tax dollars £rom these apartments mQre than supports <br />the number of children they have in the schools, which is not true of single <br />residences. <br />Mr, Wayne Silzell, 24843 Mitchell Drive, advised that he had some opinions <br />from residents in his area relative to the proposed zoning change in Ordinance <br />65-65, and asked to whom they should be delivered. Yt was suggested he <br />contact his councilman, <br />Miss Lynn Parker, 5378 Columbia road, asked about the sewer canstructinn in <br />progress on two of the three streets leading into the high school, whether it <br />wasn't a hazard, and why it couldn't have been deferred until school was out, <br />a matter of sixteen days, <br />i+tr. Limpert asked the Safety-Service Director wilether Rurns Road was being kept <br />open, and was advised that cars would be able to get into the school and that <br />he was in daily contact with the contractor and kept advised on progress. <br />Ordinance No. 65-35 was given its third reading. An Ordinance amending the Zone <br />Map adopted as part of the Ordinance Na. 62-33 (known as the Zoning Code of <br />the City of North Olmsted) by changing the designation thereon of certain <br />lands on the north side of Delmere Drive from its present designation thereon <br />as a Class "C" Single Residence District to a Two (2) Family Residence District.
