MI NUTES OF THE MEETI NG OF THE COUNCI L <br />OF TMC C) T1P QF NORTH OLMSTED <br />December 17, 1968 <br />8:Op P.M. <br />Present: President Francis J. 0'Neill, Councilmen Caster, Eian, Hodgins, <br />Limpert, Miller, Prokasy, West. <br />Also present: Service Director Watts, Assistant Engineer Ransbury, <br />Law Director Kitchen ar+d Clerk of Council Florence Holm. <br />Minutes of December 3rd Council Meeting approved as read. <br />Mrs. Hodgins, Chairman L,iquor Controt Committee, reported 0 moeting on <br />December 4th because of request by Mr. Bement for atteration to bNilding <br />at 27720 Lorain Road for purpose of a liquor establishment. Committee <br />voted against request inasmyth os it seemed that Code requirements for <br />parking at that location cannot be met. All Counpil members have a copy <br />of this report of Liquor Control Committee. <br />Mr. West, Chairman of the Finance Ganmittee, reported on th?ir meeting of <br />December 12th. Committee agreed to turn dpwn a claim an plumbing work done <br />on a sewer line to a home since it wa5 handled improperly. Cor+CensuS was <br />that the City office should have'b,een ciolled to determine whether trouble <br />was in their line, or the City's )ine. $35.00 was spent by this party, <br />only to find that the troub1e was not in their line. Committee also dis- <br />cussed merits of an ordinance which would permit the Finanes Directqr to <br />make smpll adjustments in sewer chargqs. An example was cited coneerning <br />reading of water meter. Adjustments might be necessary from time to time. <br />Also, satary recommendations for 1970 were discussed at great length. <br />Most of Council and Financt Committee agreed on one definite thing: thet-e <br />would be no adjustment in Council and President of Gouncil salaries. It <br />was agreed to up-date salaries Where adjustments were necessary as fer as <br />Finance Director, Law pirectar and Mayor, but there are na sppeific recom- <br />mendations as yet. This wi 11 4e con$idpred at next Finance GommPttet in <br />January 1969. <br />Mr. Prokasy, Chairman of the Public Perks, Property & RecreatiQn Committee <br />and Design & Platting Committee, mentioned the latter comrnittee'S joint <br />meeting with Administration, Council and Regional Planning on December lOth. <br />Everyone concerned has been furnished with a copy of the minutes of this <br />meeting. <br />Mr. Fred Franklin, of Franklin Brothers, 19919 Center Ridge RC?ad, Racky River, <br />addressed Council regarding his 1967 sidewalk assessments On Sharon Drive. <br />After Council questioned Mr. Fr,anklin on this matter, President of Council <br />0'Neill said this matter would be discu$sed further in committee, and asked <br />for a report of committee at CQUncil meeting of January 7, 1969• <br />Ordinance No. 68-191, which had been introdyced by Mr. Prokasy, was given its <br />third reading, "A Resolution amendiMg Resolution No. 66-87 enaated April 5, <br />1966, and entitled `A Resolutipn accepxing for record purpase6 only Olrnsted <br />Woods Subdivision; vacating Bev!erly Hills Park Estates Subdivision No. 2; <br />approved by Resolution No. 63"137; vacating Beverly Hills Subdivision No. 2 <br />Extension, approved by Resolution Nq. 65-17, and declaring an emergency,' <br />and declaring an emergency." Mr. Prpkasy then moved for adoptiqn of Ordin- <br />ance, seconded by Mr. Caster. AFfirmat;ve vote Caster, Eian, Hodgins, Limpert, <br />Mirler, Prokasy, West. <br />
