Under old business, Mrs. Hadgins inquired how matter regarding plumoing bill
would be handled, since we now have the Finance Committee's recommendation.
Service Director Watts said he would take care of informing them pf decision.
Under new business, Mr. West questiqned the Law Director regarding a question
asked by Police Department, in regard ta accumulation of days off. Apparently
these accumulate from year to year, and in case of death, they hawe no condi-
tian in present ordinance that would pay this to the survivor• It is pay due,
and they are requesting that an qrdinance be drawn up that will protect their
survivors. Mr. West asked Law Director if this can be done. Mr. Kitchen
asked what rate would accumulated pay be given in such a circumsgance? At
the rate paid at time death ocpurs? Would this be fair, for example, to give
accumulated pay at a Chief's salary, if the accumulated pay rea11y apptied to
hours wo.r.ked.;as Sargeant? Shauld he not receive Sargearit's pay f4r those ac-
cumulated days? Mr. Kitchen said this should be taken up in commirtes and
thoroughly looked into. Me GOrtNrtented that many municipalities expe4t tMese
emplpyees to take their days off at time they are earned, thus avoPding this
difficulty, if possible.
Mr. West also inquired about question raised regarding sewer charge error.
Law Director Kitchen said he would like to give this further consideration.
