Bruce Kitchen, Acting Gity Engineer Michael Karhan and Clerk of Council Florence Holm, The minutes of the meeting of Council of September 3rd were approved as read. Mr. Caster, Chairman of Appointments, Industrial Development and Municipal Development Committees9 said an Equalization Board witl meet ihursday, September 19th, at 8:00 p.,may on the Southern-Decker-Midvale paving. Mr, Eian, Chairman of Safety, Health & Welfare Committee, said this committee had met on the llth of September. The problem of storage lanes was thorough+?, discussed as to what can be doneo The Post Office will relocate mail boxes as soon ps they can. The question as to how this is handled in Other cities caraEe up. Chief Hird ofl`ered to check this out with nearby suburbs. The Blastiny Ordinance was discussed. The Traffic Controt File will be reviewed and brourht up-to-date. The Committee has a proposed glue sniffing ordinance to studye This Committee has received a letter from the Planning Commission, stating that plans should be approved regarding fire protection before passage. A lettex is to be sent to Planning Commission saying this is done at present time. It has been suggested that fire hydrants for new commercial buildings be on the same side of the street. Letter is to be directed to Building Commissianer Gundy requesting that this be considered. The following recommendations have been made by committ_eeo "No left-turn" sign on Butternut Ridge Rd. from Dover; "right-turn on red with caution" at Columbia-Cedar Point Roads; "no through trucks" sign on Dover, Porter and Barton Roads. They discussed the possibilNty of a curfew ordinance but this needs further study. Also gun control law was discussed. They will take this up further for study and discussion. HelicoptGr- control or standards was again reviewed. Suggestion was made that Clerk writ;e surrounding communities for sample ordinances; also, that this matter might wetl be discussed in the Mayors' Associationy with possibility of agreeing on stand- ards among cities. Air pollution was cliscussed.
