MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CTTY 0F NORTH OLMS'TED Ju]Ly 2, 1968 8!00 P,Mo Present! President Francis J. U'Neill; Cou:r,ciYmen Caster, Eian, Hodgins, Limpert, Miller, Prokasy, West, Also present; Mayor Ralph E. Christman, Safety-Service Director Del Limpert, Acting City Engineer Michael Karhan, Law Director J. Bruce Kitchen, Finance Director William L. Gerlach and Acting Clerk of Council Margaret West. The first order of business was a hearing.on the 1969 budget. There being no one present who wished to comment, the heari.ng was declared adjourned. The meeting of the Council was calleci to.orcter at 8?02 P_M, Minutes of the meeting of June 18zh were approved as rEact, Tn-re were nc corrections or additions to the minutes of the public heanng at June 25th. Mayor Christman reported.that the probFem.with the Eicher property at 24669 Kennedy Ridge is bein$ resolved by having Mx:< Mural run an 8" line down Kennedy Ridge to Columbia, and down Colcxmbia to grade to pick up the Columbi.a ditch. The work is to be done by the first or nExt weeke Mayor Christman also announced that the Safety-Service Director, Delbert Limpert, is resigning August lst, inasmuch as he and his family are moving to Ma.rblehead to live. Safety-Service Director Limpert asked that.Cauncil.consider resurfacing Porter Road from Lorain to Mi11 Road, and Ma.ple Ridge_Boad fz°om Walter to Clague with 2" to 3" of asphalt. He also requested_that a charge be established to be made to property owners when_replacement of a driveway culvert is necessary because of a city street.being improved with roadside.ditches, when a roadside ditch is being rebuilt, or when a cu1vErt does not function properly?, Mrs. Hodgins, Chairman of Public Service_and Utilities_Committee, furnished members of Council with copies of the repcrt on solid waste disposal. As Chairman of the Liquor Control_Committee_:Mrso Hodgins.reported they have no objections to the application No. 0001969- and the Clerk was instructed to so notify the Ohio Department of Liquor Control, Mr. Miller, Chairman of the.Legislatiue_Camoaittee_xeported on...their meetinq on June 24th. Legislation.is being introdueed_authorizing,demolitifln of building on_Permanent Parcel.No. 235-26-9< The Committee.recommends that North Olmsted join the.Northeastern.Ohio.Area-wide.CouncilL_of Gauernments. They also recom- mend and will.request that legislation be grepared in regard to shopping carts littering the right-of-ways. Mr. Limpert, Chairman of the.Transportation Committee, reported on their meet- ing with.the.bus drivers who had requested S.Qngevity pay. Their request had _ to be turned down, due to the fact that the.bus.line budget will not permit it, As a result of a suggestion.by_the drivers,.misuse of school passes will be studied, and possible ways to correct it wi.ll be discussed.
