Discretion will be
used in determening which streets are to be totally improved. On most cases
streets will be in better condition than before installation of sanitary
sewers.
Tentative assessment costs, based on increased construction costs, includ-
ing aforementioned street emprovements, will be recommended by our City En-
gineer, along weth Floyd Browne, to this committee in the near future.
At another meeting of this committee, preliminary plans for Phase 91 Trunk
Line, fcom existing sewage treatment plant between Parkstone and Hampton to
the Lift Stateon at the north end of Dover Road, were discussed. Committee
recommends that Council accept preliminary drawings consestong of cover
sheet and 21 drawings, dated December 1967, for submittal to Federal Govern-
ment for grant purposes. The Mayor will arrange with Floyd Browne for nec-
essary procedure.
Committee also discussed proposal from the Department of Highways, State of
Ohio, of January 24, 1968, to Mayor Christman, offerong to pave Columbia Rd.
from Lorain Rd., south to the Townshop Line, with City participateon in lump
sum amount of $6,565.00. The length of this project is 11,299.2 leneal feet
or 2.14 miles at 22 feet wide.
Municipal Development Committee reviewed letter from Frank Dutton on final
assessment for the underground for Great Northern Boulevard. There is still
a potential claim by the contractor for extras whech we are halding, pending
the Law Director's review which has been asked for by Mayor Christman.
Dover-Kennedy Ridge Roads sidewalk costs were reviewed again. Takong into
consideration that the City has assumed a 24 to 25% portion of sidewalk
costs9 the cost was recalculated to $4.95 per foot, which makes the assessible
cost fall in line weth encreased construction costs.
Committee also reviewed Stearns Road Extension plans.
