Bruce Ki tchen, Fi nance Di rector Wi 1 t a am Gert aer,, <br />City Engineer Frsnk Qutton and Clerk of Councsl Fiorence Hoim. <br />Minutes of ineetina of December 5th approved as written. <br />Mayor Christman proclaimed the period now through January lst as a peraod <br />for moderation in drinking, and uraed citizens to observe this period to <br />protect the lives o{ all persons osa our highways and stree+ts. <br />Mrs. Hodgins, Chairrnan of Liquor Control and Pubtic Service and Utilities <br />Committees, reported that the Liquor Control Comrnittee had met briefly to <br />consider appt i cation for Szarkas Del i catessen fQr a Cl Perrni t. They voted <br />approval and requested Clerk of Council to notify the Liquor Control Board <br />in Columbuso <br />Mr. Caster, Chairman of Municipal Developrnent Committee, reported Qn three <br />sidewalk assessment objections on the Barton-Alexander sidewalk program. <br />Mr. George Anderson objected to cost. Committee voted not to allow this. <br />Mr. Glaga Georgieff objected to cost, and committee voted not to a11ow <br />this. Floyd Waters on Barton contested incorrect frorat footage. Engin- <br />eering checked on this and computed footage as 21 feet. Assessment based <br />on 25 feet at 4.35 per foot or $108.63. Reducing this to 21 feet would <br />give revised figure of $91.25, or a reduction of $17,38. Mr. Caster sug- <br />gested Council accept this report as Equalization Board Report for legisla- <br />tive purposes. <br />Mr. Limpert, Chairrnan of Transportation Committee, reported their committee <br />had met December 7th to discuss school passes and figures on the special <br />buses that we're using for downtown schools. Unfortunately, this is not <br />going as planned; fares are down considerably. Mr. Limpert gave detailed <br />figures to prove this. Plans have been made to meet with Citizens Cornmittee, <br />who have been so helpful during the past few months, working with the Trans- <br />portation Committee, in trying to figure out what should and can be done to <br />lower fares. Mr. Limpert suggested that Mr. Ledvina, Chairrnan of this com- <br />mittee, select four students to attend this meeting, since they would have <br />some ideas which could be useful. The meeting will be in City Hall December <br />21st at 7:30. <br />Mr. Eian, Chasrman of Safety, Health & Welfare Committee, has scheduled a <br />meeting of his committee for December 20th at 7:30 to discuss 6lasting Ordin- <br />ance. He wou3d 1 i ke the Fi re Chi ef, Ci ty Engi neer and Safety-Servi ce Di rector <br />to attend. Dr. Walters of John Carroll wi11 also attend meeting. <br />Mr, West, Finance Committee Chairman, met with this cornmittee on December 7th, <br />to go over the balance of appropriations for 1967 and transfer ordinance. <br />They aiso went over 1968 budget, item by itern, and this is now complete. <br />They will have the 1968 budget for January meeting.
