3 <br />f <br />MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE COUNCIL <br />OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />June 20, 1967 8:08 P.M. <br />Present: Mayor Ralph E. Christman; President of Council Francis J. <br />0'Neill; Councilmen Carroll Eian, Jack Foltz, Virginia <br />Hodgins, Dewey Limpert, Alex Mangani, John West. <br />Also present: Law Director J. Bruce Kitchen; Finance Director W. L. <br />Gerlach; Safety-Service Director Del Limpert; City Engineer <br />Frank Dutton; Clerk of Council Margaret West. <br />Absent: Henry Caster. <br />Minutes of the meeting of :iazrie 6tty were appr.aved as writttn. <br />Mayor Ralph Christman annauriced we were again cooperating in the summer <br />intern program, sponsored by the American Society for Public Administra- <br />tion, by employing Robert Grey, a student at Miami University, for a <br />ten-week Summer Internship in Public Administration. <br />The Mayor also proclaimed July 8th as International Scholarship Day, <br />in connection with the American Field Service sponsorship of a visit <br />here of forty-one exchange studenti from different countries on July <br />7, 8 and 9th. <br />Mayor Christman also briefly outlined the plans for a new Sears store <br />at the Great Northern Shopping Center, as well as a high-rise medical <br />building and other stores. <br />The Mayor also requested that Ordinance 67-156, on the agenda tonight, <br />referring to the resurfacing of Lorain be held up until a note ordinance <br />can be passed which will enable the Finance Director to sign a Fiscal <br />Certificate prior to passage of the resurfacing ordinance. Ordinance <br />No. 67-156 will be included in the agenda for the special meeting to <br />be held on Monday, June 26th. <br />City Engineer Frank Dutton reported he had talked to the County Engineers <br />on the schedule for the Dover Center Road job. It is expected the <br />contract will be let about July 13th. <br />Mrs. Hodgins, Chairman of the Liquor Control Committee, reported they <br />will go along with the request for an additional license at Heller's, <br />and the Clerk was directed to so notify the State Department of Liquor <br />Control, <br />Mr. Eian, Chairman of the Public Safety, Health and Welfare Committee, <br />reported at their meeting on June 14th Chief Hird had requested a <br />modification of the Police Organizational Chart. Mr. Eian asked <br />the Law Director to review the request before the Committee does any <br />further work on it.
