We have no alternative but to <br />agree, so legislation was requested and will be acted on at this meeting. <br />The Finance Committee also recommends raising the cost per dumping load <br />at the land fill from $7.00 to $9.00, and will ask for legislation <br />authorizing the Mayor to sign such a contract. <br />At their second meeting the Finance Comtaittee reviewed the proposed <br />budget for 1968, and reports received from the Fire Department, and Mr. <br />Gundy of the Building Department. Mr. Gundy's report on the growth <br />in population and valuation for 1967 and 1968, was most comprehensive. <br />Requests were also received from the Engineering Department and the <br />Service Department and Police Department for 1968 budget purposes. <br />Mr. Ma.ngani, Chairman of the Public Parks, Property and Recreation <br />Committee, reported that the Ministerial Association 6overning Board <br />is meeting on Sunday, June llth at 3:00 P.M. to discuss the Bus Stop <br />program for Thursday evenings throughout the summer. The meeting <br />is to be at St. Brendan's Church, and all councilmen are welcome to <br />attend. <br />On Tuesday, June 13th, Council under the sponsorship of the Public Parks, <br />Property and Recreation Committee, is meeting with the Recreation Commission <br />to set up its duties and program, as required by charter. The meeting <br />will be at 8:00 P.M. at City Hall to review the Commission organization. <br />Mr. Mangani gave a short report on the last meeting of the Planning <br />Commission, at which the Normandy Apartments were approved. The <br />Design and Platting Committee will meet to go over this as well as <br />plans submitted for more townhouses on Clareshire which are in a <br />Mixed Use District. Mr. Mangani reported that the Planning Commission <br />had approved the plans for the Butternut Elementary School on May 9th, <br />and the Mayor confirmed his belief that Council need take no action <br />on these school plans. <br />The Clerk read a letter from the League of Women Voters of Westlake - <br />North Olmsted, commending Council for the resolution to the County <br />Board of Elections asking for provision for new voter registration <br />in North Olmsted. <br />The Clerk read a letter from the Ohio Department of Liquor Control <br />advising of application for a D3A permit for P S G Corporation d/b/a <br />Hellers Dining Room, 4998 Dover Center Road. This was referred to the <br />Liquor Control Committee. <br />The Clerk also read three letters from the Building Commissioner <br />relative to Council action on the proposed demolition of buildings <br />at 24980 Lorain Road, 23074 Virginia Avenue and Parcel No. 232-3-16 <br />on Martin Drive. <br />
