Mro Eian, Chairman of the Public Safety Committee, requested that a meeting be se* up some t+me during the week of January 8th for Dr. Walter to discuss updat'inq of the blasting ordinance with all of Council. Mr. West, Chairman of the Finance Commitfiee, reported that at their meeting on December 15th they covered nineteen different items. They mefi with pol;ce and firemen to expiain the pay raises being presented to Council. They dec'lded thafi pay ordinances and organization should be contained in separate ordinances, and will work with the Legislative Committee in this ehanqe, It was decided not to add three poiicemen and f+remen in the 1967 budget. They agreed on a singie man's porfiion of paid hospitalization for the Sewage Treatment and Service Department empioyeese They increased the auxiliary police pay to $2.00 per hour. They reviewed and adjusted s6laries for secretarial and cierlcai employees where necessary. They also raised fihe inspecto;-s' pay and the pay for ±he Law Directorts cierical help. Gerlach in the handaing of the police and firemen's pension fund, so that North Olmsted owes considerabNy iess than most of the neighboring communities.
