4. <br />Council Minutes 4-7-70 '2- <br />recommending rezoning requested by Pacer from commercial to Class B <br />Hi-Rise. They also approved and recommended Monte Subdivision; also <br />approved pians for Treatment Plant. Items are now in Design & Platting <br />Committee for action. <br />Mr. Prokasy, Chairman Public Safety Committee, reported SafeCy Committee <br />had met on March 24th. The Mayor, Chief Hird and Patrolman Bierman <br />attended this meeting, also Mr. and Mrs. Prindt. The following items <br />were acted upon. Berkshire and Lorain light to go on caution at night; <br />Police Department is checking to see if Decker & Lorain Road light can <br />be changed to a caution light at night; also considering changing Iight <br />at Clague and Lorain to caution at night. Regarding Brendan, David re- <br />quest: present recommendation against traffic light in this area because <br />study suggests that there is not sufficient traffic to warrant one: <br />Ranchview & Lcrain, not sufficient volume at this time but will check <br />after building is complered. WiCh reference to Clague and Mastick stop <br />sign, the Frindt's had attended meeting to request a signal. The Safety <br />Committee is asking Patrolman Bierman to make a traffic study here. <br />Also under consideration would be additional street lighting of area, <br />additional marking signs on Clague and warning signs on Mastick west of <br />Clague, plus additional police in area. After study has been made, the <br />Committae cai11 notify the Frindt's of results. <br />The Safety Committee has studied and recommends chsnge in Codified <br />Ordinance Section 501.99, penalty section under paragraph E that #501.05 <br />and 501.06 be added to this paragraph and paragraph E be deleted in its <br />entirety. Under offenses, insulting or abusing officer from maximum of <br />$50.00 to $500.00. This is recoamendation of Police Department. Patrolman <br />Bierman caill also study school lights and guards as to standards, etc. <br />People addressing Council: <br />Mrs. C. R. Sterling, 3376 Woodview, spoke to Council about storm drain <br />across their property. The pro3ect had been left uncompleted the last <br />of October. Assistant City Engineer Ransbury said this will be taken <br />care of as soon as weather is suitable. It will take 3 or 4 days of <br />60 - 70 degree weather before thep are able to get onto ground with <br />equipment. Mrs. Hodgins further described problem here and urged that <br />it be finished at first possible date. <br />Mr. Earl Timothy, 29863 Broxbourne, inquired about letter he and his <br />wife had written to City Administration, asking if they would receive <br />written reply. Mayor Christman said they would receive a letter. He <br />also asked about pumping station on Broxbourne: is it to be enclosed <br />or remain as iti is? Service Director Glatts said there is to be a 6' <br />cyclone fence and lights. Mr. Timothy asked if there would be an <br />auxiliary pump at lift station. Mr. Watts replied that lift station <br />is equipped with an overflow. Mr. Timothy requested that he and <br />several others have situation explained to them on the site and Mr. <br />Watts agreed to this. <br /> <br />???. ?
