Council Minutes 3-17--70 -2- <br />Mayor Christman requested lsgialatian fcr next Co+uucil maetisrg ordinance <br />that would authorize the Magor to enter into agreement. <br />4) '1'he Annual Report wi11 be delivered Thursday, March 19, to every home <br />in the City along caith the Sun Herald; <br />5) Request from North Qlmsted t-iusic Festival that we contribute again <br />this year, and would like to reccmnend that cae contribute $150. as we <br />have in the past. <br />Mr. Prokasy is naa present. <br />Mr. Boehmer, Chairman Municipal Deveiopment Conmfttee, reported Chis <br />Comnittee had a meeting on March 14th, and discussed sidewslks on East <br />Park, liest Park and North Park Drives. The Committee felt it wauld be <br />a burden an the residents in these areas but putCing in sideualka at Chis <br />tfine. The Committee still wants the Engineering Department to draw up <br />plans and specifications for this area for future use. <br />Mr. Limpert, Chairman of Finance Committee, reported this Comittee met <br />on March llth, present «ere Mrs. Hodgins, President 0'Neili, Finance <br />Director Wiliiam Gerlach, Msyar Christman and Service Directar Watts. <br />SeveraZ subjects were discussed as follaws: salaries for Recreation <br />Department and their request to change staff by separatina the pasition <br />of Handicraft & Swim Director wh3.ch were under one, placing a salary of <br />$800. per swmmer for Handieraft Director, $700. per summer for Swim <br />Director, and addi.ng a Little Zheatre Director at a salary of $iOQ. per <br />week. This met within the approved budget and will ask fvr leglslation. <br />Also, to insert the pay scale for "Learn to Swim" program to be included <br />in Ordinance, and will forward same to Law Director with praposed salaries <br />which are: Water Safety Instruetors - ag,e 18 and up -$7.U0 per 3 hr. <br />session, Senior Life Savers - age 15 and up -$4.00 per 3 hr sessfon and <br />Junior Life Savers - a?-e 14 m3.nimum -$2.00 per 3 hr. session. <br />Mr. Limpert stated Cammittee approved riayor's request for two new po7.ice <br />cars and lenislation will be requested under new business; a2so, it was <br />decided to hold the request bq Law Director for additional money until it <br />would be diacussed further with the Mayor; the pelice and fire salaries <br />were discussed and wil.l ask for legislation; Service Director's request <br />for 2000 tan of black top, 1000 fion of slag, and oil, gasoline ans1 diesel <br />fuel was approved, and lepislation will be reauested; a2so appraved the <br />request of Service Director to advertise for bids for generator for Barton <br />Road Lift Station and will requeat legislation under new business. <br />Mr. Speedling, in the absence of r?r. tdest, reported the Design & Platting <br />Committee met on March lOth. This Comnittee discussed and reviewed the <br />groposed plan of North Olrasted 3ubdivtsion located at Lorain: & Berkshire <br />Road for a She11 service statiori. In vieca of the traffic safety report <br />from Police, it was y#Vqkd to reject the proPosed plan.
