Council Minutes 2-17-40 <br />Page -2- <br />In reference to request made by Cauncilman Grady at previous meeting, <br />this Committee should have more informatiaa within 60 to 90 days. There <br />is a study in protess now an flooding conditions in certain areas, which <br />is being conducted by Floqd Br(x#ne. <br />Mr. Limpert, Chairman Finance Department, stated this Committee met on <br />February 12th with Council Members to discuss the iesuance of notee for <br />Contrkcts 15 and 16; also discussed the possibility o£ allowing Iepartment <br />Heads hospitalization coverage for single persan, and will request legis- <br />lation under new buainess. Mr. Limpert also will request Iegislativn for <br />pay scaie of Finance Department under new business. <br />Mr. West, Chairman Design & Platting, etated the Public Hearing on <br />Ordinances No. 69-13I and 69-210 was held on Pebruary Sth. At that <br />tneeting, discrepancies in the drawl.ng were found. This drawing has <br />been changed to canform to the Ordfnance No. 69-131. Mr. [dest pointed <br />out that the Ordinance was not changed - onlp the drawing wss. <br />Mr. iJest reported the Planning Commissian has requested a 30 day exten- <br />sion on the Embassq Rezoning. A motion was made by Mr. Weat, secanded <br />by Mr. Prokasy. "Yeas" Boehmer, Grady, Hodgins, Limpert, Prokasy, <br />Speedling, West. <br />Mr. Prokasy, Chairntian Public Safety, reported the following: 1) Request <br />of Councilman Grady, concerniag traffic light at David or Brendan Lane, <br />to Council, was referred to the Safety Coaimittee. This Committee has re- <br />quested a study be made by the Police Department. The study has not been <br />completed as yet, but hope to have results of saine at next meeting; 2) <br />Mr. Prokasy requested Clerk to contact other eommunities and ascertain <br />information relating to study of gun control legislation; 3) regarding <br />Board of Building Code Appeals recommendation to Council, that an addition <br />be made to the multiple housing family cade: -"all locke- toom areas <br />used for incidental storage to have sprinkler heads supp-ied off house <br />water lines, etc." This Committee is in process of getting a xeport from <br />the Fire Department and will report on same at next meeting. <br />People addressing Council as follows: <br />Mr. Carl Lang, 23643 Stoneybrook Dr., spokesman for a group of homeowners <br />on Stoneybrook, stated that last year in May and again on July 4th, they <br />experienced floodix?g iA basements because of sanitary sewers baching up. <br />Ttiey are in receipt of a letter from Mr. Watts, Service Director, inform- <br />ing them of work which is being done to correct flooding conditians. Mr. <br />Lang further said they experienced no trouble for the past five or six <br />years until last year. He questioned if something was wrong with the <br />sanitary sewer sqstem and asked for help in golving the problem. <br />Maqor Christman stated we do have some faulty sewer lines in Cantract 6, <br />and are in the process of televising and smoke testing sewers in that area <br />- W-A
