<br />Minutes of Council meeting of September 16th approved as written.
<br />Mayor Christman reported that condemnation procedure has been started on
<br />both Cottonwood Trail house and Hixon Building; plus vacation of tenants
<br />in Mastick Stables property in process. He requested that Council pass
<br />legislation authorizing assessment procedure for Contract 15; also, leg-
<br />islation authorizing nine million gallon per day treatment plant. He
<br />said Council now has information regarding the seventh member suggested
<br />for Cultural Commission, Mrs, Kathy Sheldon. fihe Mayor proclaimed Library
<br />Week, October 12th - 19th, recognizing the great source and service which
<br />the Library affords. He mentioned North Olmsted citizens should be aware
<br />that there is a half mill levy ail c,ver Cuyahoga County for library purpnseso
<br />The week of October 6th - 12th is sire Prevention Week. October 31st is
<br />trick ar treat night (Hallowe'en). Mayor Christman continued his report
<br />with detdils of ineetings which he has been attending wirh other Mayors in
<br />this area where they have heard men from Stanlev Construction, Department
<br />of Natural Resources, Three Rivers Water Shed District and their various
<br />proposals. They met again this week to discuss and attempt to determine
<br />cost for application of grant, Thzs would involve five thousand dollars
<br />for technical information that would be required to apply for such a grante
<br />If feasible, Mayor will recommend to Council that we participate with other
<br />cities involvedo The group is generally in accordance that this is the way
<br />to start to solve drainage problem.
<br />Service Director Watts reported on smoke testing of sewers, and said the.re
<br />are still areas which need ta have this work done. In tonight's legisla-
<br />tion is Resolution No. 69-174 authorizing him to go ahead with advertising
<br />for bids for chemical giouting; and "television work which would enable Ser-
<br />vice Dept. to proceed with this work,
<br />Acting City Engineer Karhan reported they are in process of correcting de-
<br />fiencies in Engoglia Subdivision, and subsequently legislation wi11 be re-
<br />quested for ctedicatian of subdivision,.
<br />Mrs. Hodgins, Liquor Control and Public Service & Utilities chairman, an-
<br />nounced there will be a meeting of latter committee on October 9th at 8:00
<br />p,m,, to which all of Council is urged to attende They will have an out-
<br />of-state speaker explaining a method of solid waste disposal,
<br />co- Mr, Gaster, Chairman of Apnointments, Industrial Development and Municipal.
<br />Development Committees, said the Appointments Committee concurs with re-
<br />commendation from Gommunity Council and the Mayor for Mrs, Kathy Sheldon
<br />to serve for one year on Cultutal Activities Committee. Mr< Caster moved
<br />that Council apnrove apDointment af Mrs. Sheldon; Mr. Prokasy seconded
<br />motion, "Yeas" Caster, Eian, Hadgins, Limpert, Miller, Prokasy, West.
