r <br />Council minutes - July 15, 1969 <br />Page 2 <br />4D expected t.hat Planning Commission will act on it at their meeting on Ju1y 22nd- <br />In the meantime, Council cannot establish a date for the public hearing on <br />these proposed zoning changess <br />Mrm Prokasy, Chairman of the 1'ublic Parks, Property and Recreati.on Committee, <br />reported their approval of the legislation now pending which proposes long- <br />range recreation improvements for the City to be put on the ballot, <br />The Cler°k read the following correspondence: a communication trom Planning <br />Commission as to the action taken on the proposed zoning ordinances referred <br />to them for action; petitions re water damage from storm drains and sanitary <br />sewers from residents of Rosita Lane and Maria Lane; and a petition from Rosita <br />Lane residents requesting that the City proceed with the planting of crees in <br />their tree lawns9 and a letter from Mr. Margolius of Jamestown Village asking <br />for a review of their water bill, and setting forth the reasons why it was <br />felt that the amount was unfair. <br />Mr. Albert Wollman, 6090 Somerset, reported that he had flooding problems at his <br />house furice on July 4, and also on May 18th< He had previously also had water <br />problems which were supposed to have been referred back to the builder for <br />correction. Mayor Christman stated that that the area is serviced by dit.ches <br />inadequate to carry the heavy rains we have had this year, and it wi11 be neces- <br />sary to improve the ditch system. This improvement will be under•taken when <br />I-80 is constructed, <br />Mr. Lloyd Case, 24175 Maria Lane, questions whether the sewers were large enough <br />to carry off the effluent, Mr. West requested that the Building Commissioner <br />check_ on this question. <br />Mrs. Rahn, 6048 Somerset, complained of water and flooding in the recreation <br />room of her home, <br />Mrs, F. J, 0'Neill, 26700 Waterbury Circle, requested a sign "No Thru Street" on <br />that street, on behalf of the children living there, whose safety is threatened <br />by motorists and trucks using the street without realizing that it is dead end. <br />She also suggested erection of a"Children Playing" sign. <br />Mr, ,Tohn Chaplik, 24177 Rosita, asked whether home owners would have to pay for <br />corrections to their sewer systems which might be necessary as a result of the <br />smoke tests now being made. <br />Mr.. Earl Timothy, 29863 Broxbourne, extended his thanks to the City and the Sdrvice <br />Department for their prompt attention to his request. <br />Mrs. Zipp, 29658 Lorain Road, asked to what use Springvale would be put, if <br />purchased by the City. <br />Mr, Walter Al1en, 30338 Lorain, asked about the zoning of 13 acres on Stearns for <br />commercial, when they were other areas being taken out of commercial zoning. <br />Mr. George Dancilc, 30374 Lorain also asked about who was responsible for extending
